“101” is the second hull of the 4400 semi custom series, semi-displacement aluminum hull and superstructure, equipped with zero speed fins stabilizers the vessel performs a maximum speed of 25 knots. She is easily recognizable because of her black hull and light grey superstructure, which anticipate to any guest her unique style and ambiance of this yacht. General concept and styling is by Omega Architects which at the moment is in charge of most of the Heesen projects under construction, while the interior design has mainly been developed by the Owners.

New Launch: Trinity Yachts 161' "FOXHARB'R Too"
Gulfport, Mississippi – January 21, 2008 – Trinity Yachts, L.L.C. announced recently, they launched the 161 ft. (49.1m) yacht named Destination FOXHARB’R Too after a brief christening ceremony by the new owner. She is a tri-deck with a beam of 28 ft. (8.6m) and an aluminum semi-displacement hull and aluminum superstructure.
Designed and built by Trinity Yachts, L.L.C., she has a cozy refreshingly cool and smart Patrick Knowles’ designed interior, in which her style is influenced by a European Spa Resort, featuring tailored sophisticated fabrics, stonework showcasing Beaumaniere Limestone, River Rock Pebbles and Walnut Travertine, satin nickel accents and a rich millwork palate of Redwood Burl, Lacewood, Macassa ebony and Honduran mahogany. Following almost two years of intense and meticulous construction, the first Horizon Premier 130+ was launched at the Premier Pier and successfully finished her sea trials at Kaohsiung harbor.
As the largest yacht ever built in Taiwan, the Horizon Premier 130+ model sets a new benchmark for quality standards here. The Horizon Premier 130+ has been built to full Det Norske Veritas (DNV) classification together with MCA LY2 code compliance. All designs, materials, equipment, and construction processes were surveyed and checked by DNV, and tests were carried out under DNV surveyors’ scrutiny. The Horizon Premier 130+ has also been designed to comply with the MCA LY2 code, which is the most important code for large yacht operation. DNV checked the design and sea trials to certify that the Horizon Premier 130+ fully complies with MCA LY2 requirements...
Broward Launches New 124' RPH "Coco Loco"
Less than 2 weeks into the New Year, Broward Marine launched its second model of the new 120’ motoryacht series. "Coco Loco", the 124’ Raised Pilot House Motor Yacht features full walk-around decks, a hard top and an extended swim platform that neatly stores two personal watercraft in recessed teak covered compartments.
This is the second launch in the new Broward 120 series and just about one year since the launch of the first. The proud owner and his wife joined the management and employees of Broward Marine as they gathered in front of the vessel as she was lowered into the water for a company photo. There was a lot of excitement and congratulations going around with the completion of the yacht nearing.
Broward continues to develop the 120 line and has two 128’ Global models in production and is starting a third in the near future...

Lurssen Launches 230' "Martha Ann"
Lürssen launched in December 2007 Martha Ann, which was known under the project name Shark. She is the sister ship of Apoise (2006) and Saint Nicolas (2007) but other than her predecessors, she has a blue hull, which gives her a more elegant sleek line. Martha Ann will be delivered to her owner in April 2008.

"Bystander" Wins SuperYacht Society Award
Fort Lauderdale, USA – During the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the luxurious motor yacht Bystander has been awarded Super Yacht of the Year during the International Superyacht Society Design Awards. This 43 metre retro classic yacht, also mother ship of the world famous J-class Velsheda, has been designed by Vripack.
By special request of a businessman, Bystander has been built by the French yard JFA in Concarneau to the styling of Rhodes Young Design from England and the design of Vripack from the Frisian Sneek. In a loaded ball-room of a luxurious hotel in the one and only yacht centre of the world Fort Lauderdale, the atmosphere was very tense when the winning yachts were to be announced. Manitowoc, Wisconsin, U.S.A. - On November 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., Burger Boat Company, one of the world’s most historic and prestigious shipyards launched Areti II, the second of two identical 127' (38.7m) tri-deck yachts to be completed this year. Fincantieri Yachts 70-meter "Prospect"
Prospect is designed as a seagoing vessel for unrestricted service. The hull construction will be steel, with a light alloy superstructure. The vessel will be twin screw with a bulbous bow. Propulsion will consist of twin diesel engines, each coupled to a controllable pitch propeller (CPP) through a reduction gear. The vessel will also be equipped with a twin high lift rudder plant, one bow thruster and two pairs of stabilizers designed to provide active roll reduction both in underway and at anchor. Power for the ship will come from 3 diesel generators, with one back-up emergency generator...

Perini Navi 50-meter "Vitruvius" Concept
Perini Navi announces the sale of a 50 metre motor yacht. Designed by Vitruvius Ltd., this new project combines the characteristics of the Vitruvius Concept – a new type of yacht created by the French naval architect Philippe Briand – with the features of an Explorer vessel, following the owner’s requirements.
The Vitruvius Explorer 50m will be the first yacht to be built with the Vitruvius Concept and the first motor yacht by Perini Navi under the Picchiotti brand. Abeking & Rasmussen SWATH "Silver Cloud"
Not many builders have ventured into S.W.A.T.H platforms for motoryachts. The acronym S.W.A.T.H means Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull and there are numerous advantages to this hull technology.
The name Silver Cloud was once written on the sides of a monohull. In particular, this mono hull was a Feadship with a length of 143 feet. This is not to be mixed up with the small cruiseship of the same name. Now there is a new project under construction currently by Abeking and Rasmussen which seems to be the successor of the 143 foot Feadship.
The new A&R S.W.A.T.H vessel will be a bit smaller in length than the Feadship but will make up for it in stability and added space. The new Silver Cloud will be 133 feet long and 58 feet wide with a draft of 13.5 feet...

Volvo Penta, one of the most innovative companies in marine history, has once again left the competition cavitating. In just over two years, Volvo's revolutionary IPS system has made its way under the hulls of over 100 boat models, ranging from 30 to 75 feet. Not since the development of the anchor has a new component been so readily accepted by the world's leading builders.
Builders have been quick to adapt Volvo's IPS technology for many reasons. First and foremost, because of the gains in efficiency, performance and maneuverability over conventional drive systems. But also, because they can install an IPS system in a few hours. Compare that with days, or even weeks, for a standard powerplant & drive system. Think of it as an outboard.....
