Lurssen 91-meter 'Project Rio' superyacht
German builder Lurssen is known for constructing large and very custom projects. Aside from being custom, many of their projects are also highly confidential and secretive in nature. One such project is a brand new signing for the German yacht manufacturer. The new luxury yacht is being called 'Project Rio' at the moment and stretches to a length of 91-meters.
Apparently the new project was signed for Lurssen to build just before the start of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). ***** Yacht and Ship are behind the signing and while details are very scarce at the moment, it is expected that a few details will emerge as time goes by. Keep a close eye on the Lurssen booth at the MYS. We leave you with a rendering of the proposed Project Rio.

JFA 85' 'Long Island' sailing catamaran
French Yacht builder JFA recently signed a contract to build a new 85-foot sailing catamaran with long distance sailing capabilities. There is to be a series of these yachts called the 'Long Island' series. The first new build has been signed and will start construction.
The Naval Architecture and concept are shared between Marc Lombard and JFA. Due to the fact that the vessel is a catamaran platform, the sleeping room arrangement will be split naturally because of the two hulls. The owner has a spacious stateroom to the front of the yacht overlooking the trampoline with direct access as well.
In the starboard side hull you will find the bathroom to the owner's stateroom. There is also a guest cabin and generously sized office. In the other hull there is room for the yacht's galley, two crew cabins as well as another guest cabin...
Nod Design unveils XE90 superyacht
Nod Design a firm in Turkey has unveiled a design for a superyacht. A superyacht with an LOA of 90-meters. One can't help but pair the design to that of another design firm and European build, closely reminiscent. The design showcases prominent features all over aimed at making life onboard totally relaxing and enjoyable.
There is a helipad located on the bow of the 'XE90' concept with ease of access to what is possibly the owner's stateroom. On the other extreme end of the yacht is the next prominent feature. A large pool with infinity edge is sure to give swimmers a great view out to the changing vistas.
The XE90 has expanses of open deck that are perfect for outdoor furniture, sun loungers, alfresco dinning table and chairs, sun beds with sunbrellas to provide direct or indirect relief from the sun. There are also exterior jacuzzi for guest use...
Bilgin's 160' classic gentleman's motoryacht
Another new yacht is under construction at the Bilgin yard in Turkey. This particular build is a classic gentleman's motoryacht, very different from what we are accustomed to at Bilgin. The new vessel in essence tries to capture the feel of the bygone golden yachting era with its fully classical interpretation of traditional yachts.
The Bilgin Classic 160 appears to be classical and traditional but will be loaded with the latest in everything, from navigational and engineering equipment to entertainment systems and luxury fittings. She is also being built to RINA standards.
Her construction is done in steel for the hull and cold-molded GRP for the superstructure. She will have room to cruise and sleep up to twelve guests onboard. Six cabins are arranged to sleep them, the arrangement is in four double cabins and two twin cabins. There will be room to sleep seven crew members...
Impossible Productions Ink 90-meter superyacht
The superyacht world of design has always been filled with proposals and concept designs, here's a new one. It comes from a design firm called Impossible Productions Ink and they are showcasing a 90-meter concept simply called the IPI90.
It is a concept with an angular reverse bow, beautifully tiered aft decks and very interesting forward end decks with the glass design. The overall design is spread over seven decks and each deck offers a different scenario from a different view.
The upper-most deck is the smallest serving mainly as the heli-deck for a large luxury helicopter. The other upperdecks above the main deck have full-beam infinity-type pools on each end of the overhangs, a cool conceptual thought. All over the aft decks there are sun-padded regions, al-fresco dining and ample space for sun loungers.
On the top of the forward end of each deck also has space for the sun worshipper...
Vripack 65-foot 'Esquire' motoryacht
Vripack Naval Architects constantly unveil new designs for showcase. One of these new designs recently surfacing from the firm is the Vripack 65' 'Esquire' motoryacht. A highly stylish motoryacht is envisioned to be built in all aluminum to a contemporary design with classical notes coming through in the design.
On the main deck, all interior sitting areas are situated on one floor level, resulting in a stepless and therefore spacious and comfortable indoor space with plenty of light thanks to the large panoramic windows. Also situated on this deck are the main steering console and the galley.
The 20-meter semi-displacement vessel is going to be run by twin 750 horse power MAN V8 engines connected to Zeus Pods for propulsion...
Vitters 33.4-meter sloop-rigged sailing yacht
Dutch builder Vitters secured another order and has it presently under construction at the moment. The new build is a 33.40-meter sloop-rigged sailing yacht being built in composite materials. Actually the hull is being built at the moment at Green Marine's facilities and once completed will be transfered to the Vitters yard for fitting out and completion towards launch.
The new vessel is being called "Inoui" and has a design by the talented Philippe Briand. The all-composite yacht will have special features as a performance yacht. Like many modern performance yachts, she will have a lifting keel allowing the draught to be increased or reduced on command.
The 110-foot yacht will have a beautiful interior that is functional, stylish yet lightweight to aid in the vessel's overall sailing performance...

Cizgi 42-meter "E&E" Expedition yacht
On the 8th of August, YF notified you of the launching of the new build that was under construction at the Cizgi yard, the 42-meter "E&E". In just over one month, the E&E has been completed. Last week she left the yard on her delivery cruise bound for Monaco where she is slated to be shown at the 2011 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS).
The E&E will stir interest at the show, as she isn't the ordinary Explorer styled yacht where function sometimes overtakes form. She is an ultra-luxury pad with sumptuous high-end finishes, fabrics and materials.
Stretching just over 42-meters long and going across 9.15-meters, the new Cizgi Yacht has spacious areas. E&E will sleep ten guests in five luxuriously appointed staterooms while thirteen crew members will have their own accommodation.

Hanseatic Marine 77-meter "Smeralda" superyacht
A new superyacht is currently under construction and nearing completion at Hanseatic Marine. She is the third installment in what can be called the 'SilVer'-series which started with the 73-meter "SilVer", now called "Rabdan" in 2007. She was followed by the 73-meter "SilVer Zwei" in 2009, a vessel that further highlighted the series' speed and fuel efficiency for a yacht of this size. The speed and fuel efficiency was first noted on SilVer Zwei's delivery cruise from Australia (where she was built) to Dubai where she transited in 12 days at just under 20-knots.
Another superyacht from this pedigree of lineage is about to come into being in the not-too-distant future. The third hull in this series is called "Smeralda" and while being a near sister she is actually larger than her sisters. Smeralda stretches to 77-meters while the sisters are approximately 73-meters...
Tecnomar signs three new yachts
Tecnomar recently announced that they have secured the sales of three new motor yachts. Apparently the fruitful results came after a few months of intensive negotiations. For Tecnomar these are great results with three new sales secured. The new yachts range in size from 33-meters up to 45-meters. The 33-meter 'Regale' being bult in aluminum is a planing platform. The other two models are also being built in aluminum as well. These two yachts are 40 and 45-meters long respectively.
The 40-meter aluminum yacht is being called 'Impero' 40S while the 45-meter in aluminum is also from the 'Impero' Line just a little larger overall. All three yachts have been slated for completion in 2013...
Jongert to reveal 50-meter megayacht design at MYS
Jongert is actually expected to present two new models at the upcoming 2011 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). One is a sail yacht and the other a motor yacht. A new 30-meter sloop was designed in callaboration with Frers Naval Architects and a new LE 500 (50-meter) megayacht (motoryacht) with design work by Azure Naval Architects and Guido de Groot are to be unveiled later this month.
The 50-meter LE 500 is a green design not only from the standpoint of its reduced carbon footprint but also easily adaptable for accessibility. The yacht can become wheelchair friendly if needed while diesel-electric propulsion hybridized system with lithium-Ion bank of batteries run the yacht.
The LE 500 which essentially means Limited Edition 50-meter, stays true to the Jongert motoryacht design while elevating and creating a larger platform to operate from and enjoy...
H2 Yacht Design Project 71-meter Project "Agat"
One of the most unique and far located projects that H2 Yacht Design would have worked on thus far is coming into being in Northern Russia. Known as Project "Agat", the new luxury yacht is being supervised in "the most extreme location to date!", according to H2 Yacht Design.
Project Agat has an LOA of 71-meters, a beam of 11.40-meters and will be able to sleep up to twelve guests. When delivered, this yacht will be the biggest and most sophisticated ever built in Russia as suggested by the Design firm. H2 Yacht Design have designed both the exterior and the interior of Project Agat.
Project Agat is being constructed to Lloyds and MCA class requirements and will be a stunning luxury yacht when completed. The interior of Agat is described as being traditional Art Deco in nature by H2 Yacht Design...
Overmarine unveil new open models
Overmarine's Mangusta brand added a new model in the Mangusta 110 and restyled and rexamined the current Mangusta 130 model. The 110 fills an important gap between the 108 and 130 models in the model range while offering a bit more in design and comfortability in social spaces.
The Mangusta 110 is designed to have a more elaborate social region on the bow as well as an area on the flybridge. The 110 will also have redesigned layouts on the interior. This is evidenced by the new interior space that will be created for guests and crew alike as a result of the new layout. You can never have enough space on a yacht.
Overall the Mangusta 110 model will retain the distinct Mangusta sports design that all are accustomed to. The other model is the Mangusta 130, not a new model but an existing model that is being rexamined and restyled to keep the product fresh and keep up with change and trend...
Arquinaval 45-meter megayacht
A new project surfaces from another design company. It is a 45-meter megayacht project from the Spanish Naval Architecture firm Arquinaval Ingeniería called the ArQ45.
A relatively simple contemporary interior three-deck design with an open sun deck region describes the design essentially. A signature feature of the design is 'bubble'-like area located mid-ships on the upper deck sure to be one of the highlights of the design. The new vessel design is expected to sleep up to ten guests and eight crew members...
Devonport launches 96-meter "Vava II" superyacht
UK custom builder Devonport has reached a major milestone with the launching of a major superyacht. The new launch came over the weekend on the 10th of September when she was christened. The large superyacht now goes by the name "Vava II" replacing the build name 'Project 55'.
Vava II represents the largest superyacht built in the UK to date. The very stylish superyacht features a design by UK-based design firm, Redman Whiteley Dixon and sumptuous interior design by Rémi Tessier is sure to please. Technical oversight was tasked by Burgess.
Now that the Vava II is launched preparations will be made for her set of seatrials which are expected to commence next month. Of course once everything goes to plan she will be delivered to her owner(s) soon after. The superyacht is certified SOLAS according to Devonport...
Hanse Yachts working on 78-foot Premium sloop
As a manufacturer of quality sailing yachts German company Hanse Yachts is well noted. They are presently working on a significant build in their portfolio, the 78-foot Premium sloop. The sleek and clean look of the vessel teases the eye as it scopes out the design rationale. Seen from the side elevation, the unobstructed views are clearly seen along the hull from stem to stern cleverly hiding intricate spaces on deck.
The Hanse 78-foot project has been in the refinement stages for a while and now is becoming reality and a delivery time frame is now set. It can be expected that the new project be launched and finished in either 2012 or 2013.

Benetti secures order for 50-meter superyacht
As Italian builder Benetti launches and delivers mega and superyachts the space created by them at their facilities do not stay empty for long. A new order has been made to Benetti to build a sleek and stylish 50-meter superyacht.
The new luxury yacht is expected to be built in GRP and aluminum materials. Aluminum for the superstructure and GRP for the hull!. The 50-meter yacht will feature a four-deck arrangement, lower, main, upper and sun deck.
Build number given to the new build project if FB 801, the first in a new '800' series. The design appears masculine yet has many subtle touches. The hull shows large rectangular windows for guest accommodation sure to increase the amount of natural light to these personal spaces. It is also a very clean design as there are few protrusions outside of the running profile lines thus keeping a very smooth appearance...

New 35-meter Ketch by Tony Castro Design
Tony Castro Design has been releasing a number of new designs and one of them is a 35-meter Ketch-rigged design. The design comes in slightly different variants even up to 57-meters. The 35-meter variant is sleek, modern, edgy and stylistic all in one package.
Tony Castro Design makes them available in different colours to appeal to the senses and tease with coordination in palette and design. On the 35-meter platform, up to eight guests will be slept.
