Perini Navi launch 56-meter "Fidelis"
The Perini Navi Group has announced the upcoming launch of "Fidelis", the 51st yacht in their fleet and the tenth sailing yacht in the 56m series. The launching will be strictly private and will be held Saturday April 16th at the Perini Navi shipyard in Viareggio. Designed by the Perini Navi Group’s technical and design department in collaboration with the New Zealand yacht designer, Ron Holland, S/Y Fidelis has a hull and superstructure in aluminum with an optimized displacement of 545 tons and a tonnage of 497 tons.
The ketch sail plan, designed and engineered by Perini Navi’s mast division measures 1,500 square meters. Both the main and the mizzen masts are in aluminum and are respectively 58.37 and 47.97 meters high. The booms are both in carbon fiber and have in-boom furling systems...
Proteksan & Turquoise 72.67-meter "Vicky" superyacht
Turkish yacht builder Proteksan & Turquoise has been basking in the success of their recent achievements. It is only four months into the year 2011 and this Turkish yacht company has already successfully launched three large luxury motor yachts. All of them are larger than 50-meters with the largest being about 70-meters. The latest activity at the yard is surrounding Proteksan & Turquoise's next largest yacht, the 72.67-meter "Vicky".
It seems that this yard is building ever larger and they have projects still larger than Vicky in the works. Vicky was recently loaded into the outfitting shed where her bare shell of hull and superstructure will be full outfitted and finished until her scheduled launching. She is being built under the hull ID NB54 and has design styling by H2 Yacht Design and Naval Architecture in house at Proteksan & Turquoise...
Benetti launches 65-meter "Nataly"
Another Italian yacht manufacturer joins the list of successfully launched yachts in 2011. The latest yacht for Benetti was launched yesterday at the company yard in Livorno. The highly anticipated 65-meter hull which most knew as the "Amnesia IV" is the new launch. However, not too long ago, the yacht changed hands in a low-key fashion and now has a new name.
"Nataly" was built under the name Amnesia IV and hull ID FB252. She has a design by all around by British design firm Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD) and the Naval architecture is by Azimut-Benetti. She is white with black masked windows and mirrors what the renderings suggested.
Her full load displacement is around 1050 tonnes and was built in steel and aluminum. Maximum beam is a roomy 11.75-meters with a full draught of 3.00-meters. Accommodation in the modern contemporary interior is for ten in five staterooms...
Progress on Nordhavn's new 120, PAE's biggest trawler project to date, is moving right along. PAE, the manufacturer of the Nordhavn line of trawlers released new renderings on the N-120, a yacht that reflects her roots while adapting lines befitting of Nordhavn's foray into superyacht territory.

Columbus 199' mega yacht in build
The Columbus 199' or 60.70-meter mega yacht is the larger of two similarly designed yachts in build by Italian manufacturer Columbus Yachts at the Palumbo shipyards. The 200-foot yacht has a full displacement steel hull and light alloy superstructure.
The design is by Hydro Tec and interior work is by Tommaso Spadolini. The interior will have accommodation for sixteen guests to be hosted in a master, two pullman berths and four double cabins. The crew is also taken care of in cabins located towards to bow on the lower deck.
Top speed will be around 18 knots being powered from twin MTU diesels. These are a pair of MTU 16V 4000 M60 series to be precise. A cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles can be expected. Delivery of the Columbus 199 is expected to be in 2012...
Trinity Yachts deliver 58.20M "Carpe Diem"
One of the lastest yachts to come out of the Trinity Yachts facilities has now been delivered. The new yacht is the 58.20-meter "Carpe Diem" and she is already cruising. Built under the hull ID T047, Carpe Diem is an all aluminum tri-deck mega yacht.
Her design and naval architecture were both done in-house at Trinity Yachts while the interior design has been formulated by Carol Williamson. Carpe Diem is powered by a pair of Caterpillar 3516B engines. On the interior she can accommodate a minimum of ten guests in a Master, three double VIP-type cabins and another guest converted cabin. She is ABS classed and compliant to the MCA. Next Carpe Diem will be engaged in a chartering event that will start at the every end of March for her first official viewing to the public.

Feadship launches 77.70-meter "Tango"
Dutch builder Feadship successfully launched another yacht in late March. It was a double launching for Feadship on Saturday 26th with the 81-meter "Air" from their De Vries yard in Aalsmeer and the 77.70-meter "Tango" at the Royal Van Lent yard.
Tango, otherwise known as hull 802 was built under a shroud of secrecy with little information available. Once again, De Voogt Naval Architects worked on the exterior design while Eidsgaard Design penned the massive interior. Like Air, Tango can accommodate fourteen guests.
Guests will be slept in six double cabins while the owner has an entire deck to themselves on the upper deck. Special features include a pool, spa, beauty salon and four-engine power package. Tango is powered by four MTUs expected to run her to a top speed of 21 knots...
Canados launches another 35-meter planing yacht
Saturday also was a good day for Canados yachts as they launched another 35-meter yacht. The new yacht is being finished for a European owner. The interior of this new vessel ws done by design studio Salvagni Architetti while the exterior was in-house at Canados.
The interior accommodation layout is in one master, two twins and a VIP-type cabin, enough to sleep eight to ten guests. There are also three cabins for the crew. All accommodation is located on the lower deck. The interior gleams with woods such as bamboo on the floors and oak on some of the furniture pieces with ebony also being used. This latest Canados 116-footer will be soon delivered to her owner to be enjoyed in the Summer season...
MCC unveils new 46-meter expedition design
The new MCC 46-meter design is retro in nature with classic hints. Envisioned to be built with a steel hull and a composite GRP superstructure, the vessel offers a range of possibilities. She is Lloyds Register and expected to be MCA compliant.
On the interior, accommodation is set out for ten guests. One master and one VIP type cabin exist on the main deck. On the lower deck, three guests cabins sleep the other six guests. Tenders are stored out of the way on the bow and in the lazarette leaving clutter-free open decks, which can be outfitted with a myriad of outdoor furniture options.
Technically the new MCC 46-meter expedition will have two power package options. The first is a twin 1,600 horsepower CAT set up. The other option is with a 1,911 horsepower engine. A range over 5,500 nautical miles at about 10 knots is anticipated and a top speed of just over 16 knots has been calculated...
ISA launches 50-meter "Liberty"
Another Italian yacht builder in ISA recently launched another luxury yacht. The latest launch is the first member of the new 50-meter line called "Liberty". 50-meter number one has a design by Andrea Vallicelli and is built in steel and aluminum. Liberty displaces -at full load- just under 500 tonnes and mounts twin MTU 12V 4000 M71 engines.
Top speed is in the region of 17 knots with cruising at 15.5 knots. Her range is around 2,200 nautical miles at 14 knots from 69,000 LT of fuel. The concept design and naval architecture are by respective in-house departments within ISA. On the interior, Liberty has a design by Rene van der Velden.
LOA is 49.95-meter with an overall beam of 9.00-meters and draft in the region of 2.50-meters. Liberty's Class is Lloyds Register and she is also MCA compliant...
CRN prepares to launch 60-meter hull 130
Italian yacht manufacturer CRN will close out the week with double launches. They are ready to launch the second yacht of the week tomorrow, a 60-meter hull that is a near sister to the "Blue Eyes". Hull 130 is already out in the open after being rolled out from the building/outfitting shed.
A pair of CAT 3512B marine diesels power her to an anticipated 15 knot top speed. Like many other CRN new builds she features an accustomed exterior design by Zuccon International Project Studio. On the inside there is a minimalist interior by French based Cristina & Alexandre Negoescu Design.
To distinguish herself from her near sisters hull 130 appears to be finished with a light grey hull and creamish superstructure. Twelve guests can be comfortably slept in her five stateroom layout with four guest cabins and a master stateroom...
Abeking & Rasmussen 61-meter "Excellence V"
If you are well intuned with yachts in the yachting industry then the name Excellence will instantly ring a bell. German yacht builder Abeking & Rasmussen are preparing to launch the next superyacht to carry the Excellence name. In fact, she is going to be the fifth yacht to bear that name as the name suggests ("Excellence V").
The design of the Excellence V has been drawn by Reymond Langton Design. The interior styling and design is also by the same Design firm. She can sleep as many as fourteen guests and just under twenty crew members. Reymond Langton has created a modern contemporary interior with all the personal touches the owner requested.
The interior is based on earthy tones. The prevalent use of browns, tans and creams can be seen by Reymond Langton. However, vibrant splashes of colours in the art work, throw cushions and other miscellaneous items...
Amels completes 65.50-meter LE212 "Imagine"
The first unit in the Amels 212 Limited Edition has been delivered. The name of the 65.50-meter yacht is "Imagine". The 1500 gross ton yacht has a design by Andrew Winch on the interior and a Tim Heywood worked on the elegant exterior design.
Imagine represents the largest yacht so far in any of the Limited Editions models. She has accommodation for up to fourteen guests. Aside from the Master stateroom there are two VIP type cabins both with balconies. Access to those balconies are via sliding glass doors from inside the cabins themselves.
Special features for the Imagine include a beach club, tender garages for twin 8.50-meter main tenders and a range of just over 5,000 nautical miles. Sprint speed for Imagine is around 17 knots with fuel tankage capacity of approximately 155,000 LT...

Proteksan Turquoise Yachts has launched its largest ever yacht – 70 meter NB53- on March 21st, 2011. The title “largest ever” has been passed from 60 meter NB49 to 70 meter NB53 which was launched on March 2nd, almost one month later than 55 meter NB52. Proteksan Turquoise Yachts has three mega yachts now on its pier preparing for their deliveries to their owners. The total length of all the yachts launched within 2011 is 185 meters now.
The brand new 70.54-meter "Talisman C" (Talisman II) is the successor to the 54-meter "Talisman C" built in 2006. The new yacht was built in steel and aluminum to an exterior design by H2 Yacht Design. Naval Architecture was in-house by Proteksan & Turquoise and interior design and styling by H2 Yacht and Design as well.
She is classed to the following: LR X 100 A1 SSC, G6, XLMC, UMS. The full displacement yacht is also MCA/LY2 compliant...
JFA launches 43-meter Expedition Yacht
French yard JFA recently launched their latest yacht. JFA is known for the building of the "Bystander", "Zeepaard" (ex. "Axantha") and many other expedition and explorer styled yachts. The newest launch is also of the expedition type and measures 43-meters in length.
Built under the hull identification 22C, she is of all aluminum construction. If she looks familiar, that might be as a result of her design inspiration from the 2003-built Zeepaard (ex. Axantha). The new yacht is essentially an enlarged version. She is designed by Vripack and built to Lloyds and is MCA compliant.
The new launch can be economically sailed as far as 4,500 nautical miles at just over 10 knots. She mounts dual Cummins QSK-19M engines with a total horse power of 1500. Ten to eleven guests can be accommodated in five cabins, inclusive of the Master stateroom...
Cheoy Lee complete Serenity 90' Expedition
On February 28th, Cheoy Lee handed over a Serenity 90 Expedition yacht to her new owner who was upgrading from his previous yacht, a Cheoy Lee Serenity 68 based in Adelaide, Australia. Construction was at Cheoy Lee’s 33 acre plant in Doumen, China with delivery at Cheoy Lee’s smaller shipyard in Hong Kong.
The 90’ is fitted with a pair of continuously rated Caterpillar C18 diesels, developing 600 horse power at 1800 rpm. A 3.6:1 ZF reduction gearbox allows for a slow turning large diameter propeller, offering excellent fuel efficiency at cruising speed. At full load, at an easy 1200 rpm, the yacht runs at over 10knots, consuming only 13 gallons per hour. Combined with 4,850 gallons of fuel, the yacht has a range of 3500 nautical miles at 10 knots, and considerably more at reduced speed. Maximum speed is 14 knots.
A total of 12 guests can be comfortably accommodated in five staterooms...

Amels sells first Limited Editions 199
Amels announced the sale of the first Amels Limited Edition 199. The 199 is well underway in construction already and the Tim Heywood design has caught the attention of a new owner. In fact the owner is not new to Amels as they are a repeat customer. The Limited Editions 199 features a plumb bow almost reminiscent from Amels' Sea Axe line but a number of custom features have been outlined by the owner to be incorporated into the design.
An enclosed lounge will be built on the sun deck, normally where a hard top would have been as seen on most of the Limited Edition models. Fold down balconies on either side of the main formal dining room are to be made to allow better views while dining. Another notable feature will be the touch-and-go helipad to be located on forward deck just aft of the forecastle area...
Lurssen Delivers 68.15m Superyacht "Hermitage"
"Hermitage" was the last of a number of launches in 2010 for top German yacht builder Lurssen. She was launched around Autumn 2010 and has now been delivered although formal delivery was slated for April 2011.
Hermitage represents another one of the custom and different luxury yachts coming out of the facilities at Lurssen. Her design has been penned by Espen Oeino and has an interior by Andrew Winch Designs. Project management was by ***** Yacht & Ship.
Hermitage sleeps as many as twelve guests in her guest accommodation layout. Six cabins exist to house guests onboard this 68-meter luxury yacht. She is an impressive 42-feet wide and has a maximum draught in the region of 12-feet. Hermitage is finished in the almost now traditional white with black masked windows and accent structures...
