Not sure of your antecedent - did she want to keep your kicked butt or her honor? :p

A woman's honor always comes first. Period. But I wouldn't be the first guy to make a butt of myself trying to separate her morals from her desires. ;)

    Hey, I'm a guy. It's my job. :D

Oh good. Being from NY, the first thing I thought of when you said "post-op" was... well, perhaps that's a thought best left without conclusion!

    Uh, did I say that?

Well, change in plans, lets do the B-228 thingy instead.

    FLIBS Raft-up

The FLIBS topic sort of went from YF raft-up to Carl's surprise, who's going, who's displaying, wisecracks (pun intended), Carl's slice and dice, Carl's night life, boys will be boys, and the compass is swinging back to raft-up.

Are we confirmed for Sand Pebble, B-228 or does someone have another suggestion?

If we're on, let's confirm a time. I'll provide beer. How many YF-ers should I expect - 10, 15, 20...? Wear your YF T-shirts and maybe Tom can stop by for a photo-op.

Sand Pebbles sounds good. Hawk, are you going to be here? I want to get together and say hello.

    Judy,
I understand about not wanting to be away from your boat during the peak show time.
I'm not at the show Monday, but if you are planning the get-together for 4:00 PM or so and folks will hang out for an hour or so, then I'll make the trip down to Ft Lauderdale for the gathering, and of course for photo ops (I will not photograph anyone that wishes not to be, as privacy is a big concern of mine). May also allow me to get some sunset shots (don't forget to change your clocks this weekend). If that does not work out I will stop by over the weekend to say hi.

Hargrave has a reception between 3:00 and 4:30 on Thursday. If I'm still vertical, will stop by the Sand Pebble to get horizontal.

I had mistakenly thought Monday was better everyone.

So here's the latest invite for FLIBS '08 Raft-up:

Thursday, Oct. 30th, at 5:00 pm on Sand Pebble, B228.

Carl, Tom, Loren, Jorge, taobsu, -- does this work? Hey, I know 4 out of the 5 already. Hope to meet some new faces.

And for confirmation of my thread of quality YF members, as you board, say Hi to Antonika who will be the registration lady at the boarding gate (no, you don't need to register.) You won't believe her background (hint: active duty Coast Guard is not her only unique employment).

Looking forward to greet and meet!

    Judy,
I have to hit up the Grand Banks debut at 5:00 PM, but will be over right after it.
    Thanks for hosting.

BTW.... If anyone from YF could cover what's new for us trawler/expedition yacht affectionados would be greatly appreciated. Anything new or on display from Nordhavn, Seaton, or Molokai Strait?

Oh, and drink a cool one for those of us unable to attend..... :) Enjoy!

I missed the opening but will come by the show tomorrow, Saturday.

My party cancelled so I have a couple of extra tickets up for donations:
Minimum quals are: Femme and fan of middle-age Norwegian males with accent and beer-bellies. If you Qualify, this Norseman is for you..:D

Joe Johnson's new 77 Real Ships Expedition, just south of the screamin' red Ferrari 599 GTB (near G Dock), was definitely worth a look. I'm anticipating an ocean test-ride on Tuesday and scribbling a few lines for a YF exclusive review afterwards. Stay tuned.

p.s.: Steve Seaton is working on a new line to be built in Suzhou, PRC. According to my spies, a 58 will be the initial model.
p.p.s.: Nordy had a nice display with 55 (59 LOA) and 76 among the offerings.

    Hi everyone,

It's Monday night. Loggin' on from a Wi-Fi. Capt Tom and myself are takin' pics of the post show parade tomorrow, so we'll be MIA for the day. The following day, I've got a sea trail on the LSX-92, followed by another on Thursday. Should be back in the YF saddle on Friday.

Tomorrow night, I'll upload a few shots from today. By Wednesday night, I think Tom can get the Post-Show Parade uploaded, but the Boat Show Babes feature might have to wait until week's end.

I heard rumors that Lazzara sold a bunch of boats. Haven't officially confirmed yet. Also heard about a few other contracts, but best not to speculate for now.

The one thing I found of particular interest was the confidence that European builders have in the American market. While the economy is the focus of the evening news and many are looking for a glimmer of hope, it's nice to hear that other parts of the world still believe in the U.S.

Overall, the mood was positive. Believe it or not, most builders didn't come to FLIBS expecting contracts. I think most of them expected it might be a little slower this year, but they were here because they are proud of the boats they've built and want to share it with those who have an interest.

A little low on sleep right now, so signing off to catch up. But before, I want to thank Lars & Kevin for uploading FLIBS news as it came available. In particular, I need to thank Tom Serio and Chris Caswell for their continuing coverage.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Good night for now...

First of all - thank you so much for this extraordinary site and your tremendous coverage of FLIBS '08!

I was not able to make it to the show this year and was very eager to see the new Four Winns V408 which was making its debut at the show. If anyone happened to fire off a couple of shots, I would be tremendously grateful to see them posted.

    Thanks!
