Just for you Kevin and anyone else interested. I followed her all the way down to the marina tonight and got some shots for you/guys.
3 hours after "Kolaha" departed, her ISA 63-meter sister (in design) arrived to take her place, the 63-meter "Mary-Jean II". * Coming up * Bow on! * Stbd bow quarter * Fox Harb'r crew anxiously waiting (with fear, joy, FENDERS) * Slowly easing in
next batch! * Watch it there buddy! * Forward detailing * Still easing in * A look at her main mast * Nameplate detail
Next Batch! * Aft hull detail * Worn anchor and used strike plate! * Finally got my question answered...There are actually LED lights running up both the steaming mast and main mast, should look nice when fully lit. * Thruster action * Which to use?
Next batch... * She came pretty close to me, so close I had the chance to quickly chat with the crew on the bow. * Stbd anchor away! * Steaming LED nav lights
Last set of "Mary-Jean II"...will put up the "Salute" pics later * Stbd Anchor detail * Our flag and Pratique flag * Mast set-up * Overall shot * Operation completed with attachement of anchor day-shape
Wow that are lovely photos, thanks Ron!! That looked really thight with her bulbous bowjust a few metres from the beach...great! I am sorry but "Mary Jean II" and Koloha C" look pretty fat on your photos and her anchor is not in best shape either. Looking forward to Salute's arrival...
"Salute" is outside at one of the mooring buoys. "Mary-Jean II" and "Kolaha" are roughly the same size. They are beamy in person so it isn't a distortion in my camera. Her beam is about 12-meters (40-feet) on Kolaha is about 40-feet as well even though she is a few feet longer. P.S: I'm going to drive back down there tonight for night shots. I'm hoping MJ2 lights up fully. I want to see those lEDS switched on her masts, but it isn't garanteed.
And trust me Milow, she was even closer to me than in the pic. If I had stepped into the water about thigh high, I probably could have touched her bulb, she was literally about 5-feet from me. and the crew were on the bow looking down on top of me. I told them, 'don't worry, if "Kolaha" can get in there, you surely can too, keep it steady and easy.' But the captain did a great job though, with Fox Harb'r Too so close behind and not much wiggle room up front, it was great control over a 200 foot yacht.
Unfortunately, she doesn't look very lit from the webcam. So I am not going to head down there for nothing.
Your photos are so clean, and Mary Jean II is looking so nice! Question.....is that Va bene in the 4th pic?
Thanks wadadli! "Va Bene" is in none of my photos. She hasn't come here for the season. Probably it may be "Destination Fox Harb'r Too" that you were seeing. The only other two yachts inside at the time were "Sea Fox" and "Dare to Dream".
