is the unfinished yacht still in port, who is the assumed owner and specs of the yacht?do you think maybe it was seized and will be for sale from the custom or something?

    Hi,

I am led to understand it was seized by someone who milked the first Owner for as much as he could and has now made spurious claims as to what the current Owner should be paying him.

    Read the Forum Rules.

Owners are not discussed here unless they are already well identified in the press.

Don't see how it can sell with the leeches lawsuit in place.

The unfinished yacht hull finally left Gibraltar this afternoon. She was towed out by the tug LUNA A and her destination on AIS shows as Rotterdam, arriving on the 10th April. I have heard that she might go on to a German port for scrapping.

    Hi,

Although it would appear to the casual observer to be a new yacht it has been built so badly that getting it into top condition might be more than it will be worth when done.

That said I would not be surprised if it appears in a yard somewhere and the remedial work starts.

    K1W1,

What do you mean by built so badly, you mean the hull and superstructure need more coating or what?still very sad that a new yacht this size could go for scrapping

If it were a matter of needing another coating it wouldn't be "built badly", it would be "unfinished". If you built it to scantlings that were too slight (metal sheeting too thin, reenforcments too small, or too far apart) or if there were lots of flaws in construction (poorly placed components, necessary structural elements interfering with necessary components or spaces) or if the design was just poor (inherently unseakindly unfuel-efficient, unfast, Props too close to hull causing vibration, or unsafe) then you would refer to it as poorly built.
