Arrivals yesterday, NEEVEEN arriving at Marina Bay in Gibraltar & SAINT NICOLAS taking on stores in the port. Daniel
Hi, Thanks Gibdan- HOw do you know she is called AVIVA III, the name on the side is AVIVA it doesn't have any letters or numbers after it.
Aviva I was the Feadship Aviva that caught fire prior to transformation to the Attessa III. Aviva II is the Aviva II after selling the oceAnco Alfa Four and being renamed that Aviva (but the second one) Aviva III would be the new axebow yacht from Abeking & Rasumssen. Hope that helps K1W1. And the new Aviva from A&R is not called Aviva III as in on her name plate but I imagine just a way of distinguishing between the others out there.
It wasn't aimed at your personally Yachtluver, just an observation... A couple of the recent yachts have gray hulls. A couple of years ago it seemed like everyone was going for some shade or another of dark blue. At the time SKAT was the only gray prominent gray hulled yacht around (and superstructure on her case) but now there's quite a few more.
You are right Kevin, grey is the new blue... By the way, I think Skat was inspired by these two yachts; http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/5844-post29.html http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/7182-post1.html
I just love the Ronin..her design is wonderful. Angular, militaristic, fast and just beautiful. Skat very militaristic and angular but bulkier compared to the Ronin. I wish that they would design more yachts along the lines of her.
For K1W1 - she was down as AVIVA III on the Gibraltar Port Movements page. Here's REVERIE in gibraltar on the 20th. Daniel
Does any one have any info for this vessel? I photographed her as she rounded off Europa Point in Gibraltar heading for the Med on the 18th. Her name is TILIKUM. Any info would be appreciated. thanks, Daniel
SKAT in Gibraltar on the 28th June. Its was the first time I have seen her with a helicopter. LADY MOURA in Gibraltar on the 27th June. Daniel
PLAN B in Gibraltar on the 6th July. Can anyone provide any historical details on her - ex names etc? regards, Daniel
PLAN B is a former Australian Navy hydrographic vessel built in 1973 At Williamstown Naval yard as HMAS FLINDERS and decommissioned in 1998 following a successful career. She was purchased by a New Zealand couple who had her completely rebuilt a few years ago into a luxury yacht in New Zealand over a 2 year period and named FLINDERS. Around 2006 she was sold and named PLAN B. The new owner had her refit at the Atlantic Drydock, Jacksonville as an expedition yacht.
Many thanks to both. I did find out that she was the ex Flinders but I wanted to be sure that they meant HMAS Flinders!!. Daniel
