    Difficult to see from the photos whether its him or not. The limo looks amazing. If you see him again, his name is David. If it is him, try and get a close up photo to post. Enjoy the rest of your day.

    I generally do not like to directly photographing the crew's face, i'm more concerned with the yacht or craft. If I see them again and I have my camera...I'll try.

    I understand that, I was assuming if close enough permission would be sought first. You can't miss him, he's tall and well built.

    Hi,

    Whilst I as a parent appreciate how proud one can be of ones offspring when they are doing well and behaving I would suggest that if a photo of your son is obtained that Yacht News e mails it to you and DOES NOT post it on here.

    A lot of folks come here, contributors and lurkers alike. I would not like a photo of myself or any of my family to appear on here particularly linking me or them to a particular vessel.

    This is my opinion and you are obviously welcome to yours so please do not take offence, rip your nightie or throw your toys out of the pram.:)

    I totally agree with you K1W1, that makes sense.

    Re: Laurie, I saw the agent that is dealing with "Katara" while she is here and he also happens to be my good friend, saw him while the Beach Landing tender came ashore to pick up provisions this morning. I told him that you have a son that works onboard. So he asked me for the his name, I told him, and he said that he knows him and he will actually see him soon. So I told him that his father is a member here on the website and to pass on a word/hello etc to him for you.

    Sensible advice thank you K1W1, easy to get carried away.

    Yacht News, thanks for your efforts with your agent friend, just shows what a small world it is now!! Any ideas why Katara went out yesterday, sailed around in circles then returned? I am sure there is a logical explanation but I am new to this and not overly familair with the behaviour of these boats.

    On Monday I went to see the Landing Craft of "Katara" come ashore, sadly my batteries died and I had to resort to utilizing my friend's camera so the photos aren't the usual quality as from my camera.

    Nice shots. I always thought the name "Katara" was related to Indian culture somehow, but after seeing the flag of registry on the landing carft my misconception stands corrected!

    Thanks to you and your friend!

    Cheers,

    Alfred

    "Katara" flies the Qatari Flag and so they tenders will fly the same flag whe away from the mother ship.

    Here is the problem I had, all the pictures I have seen for her did not show the flag, so I did not know it was a Qatari registry and tied the name to India because an Indian friend of mine had a collection of artifacts like swords and daggars which he said it was katara or from katara or something like that. So I made a wrong connection. The name is actually after the newly developed cultural village in Qatar as I now know.

    Thanks.

    Alfred

    "Katara" has a visitor for a few days. The 134-meter "Serene" arrived this morning. So now a Lurssen and Fincantieri sitting in the harbour. Took some pics for you guys. Katara was on the sugar berth before but she moved over to breakwater center (behind Serene) to join her large superyacht mate. Interestingly she had the helicopter running with lights on and everything during the operation as if they were showing off to Serene

    * "Serene" on final approach...

    * "Serene" waiting around until the tanker "Lucy P.G" leaves the berth she is to take.

    * "Serene" turned around...

    * "Lucy P.G" preparing to depart.

    * "Lucy P.G" leaving.

    Hopefully tonight she is fully lit and I could get a few nice photos. She is one of the better lit superyachts along with "Katara".

    The megayachts have found Barbados.

    Its time that Barbados gets a descent Marina for superyachts.

    When you compare Katara to Serene, then I really prefer Serene. Katara looks really heavy next to Serene.

    That is for the leaders to realize and do. I am tired preaching this to them over the years. They are building a new marina, (Port Ferdinand) which is next to Port St. Charles, but that is for small yachts. Plans have been put on the board but nothing ever done.

    Early dusk here and the initial indications I can see, she is lit in green! I've never seen her lit in green before, seen her in all white and blue or white and blue. I'll wait until it get's darker to make a fair judgement.

    I was wondering what that yacht was called, because I saw it when I was on the way from Inter-School Sports this evening.

    I figured that somehow you'd have it on here! Lol

    Katara has been moving around *A LOT*, because there have been times that I haven't seen the yacht, either at the Port, or in the Various Bays and Inlets.

    She has been back in the port for a few days now. Even in the port she has been moving around alot. When she returned on Monday, she went on Sugar Berth West then a day or two later she went to the cross berth, then a day later back to the sugar berth. Today she moved from there to Breakwater Center just behind "Serene" at breakwater North. To you it might seem like madness but this is all calculated. These moves were planned since last week.

    A few pics from this evening. As I got there they changed from green to blue. I got off two shots of the one in green and none were really worthy. As I went to reposition to retake her in green...they changed the lighting.

    *P.S it is VERY Tricky photographing her in the excess light that floods the Bridgetown Port. There are security floodlights everywhere.
