Really, so many factors change in 5 years, that it's somewhat futile to narrow down price and what's available now at that price. I would go to boat shows, perhaps even charter a few yachts, and just comprise your list of what you NEED in a yacht to be comfortable, and what you WANT. Obviously prioritize needs over wants, and at 40-50' every yacht is going to be a compromise and doubt you'll find one that matches all of your wants and needs.

Good evening all, thank you for your advice and questions which advise me in my thinking. We want to cruise as far as we can in the 2-3 weeks time between my wife's chemo treatment. I like to have the boat base out of Ga. coast or Sc and cruise down Fl. and up to Md. maybe Me if she wishes. as for her treatment we can arrange for anywhere in U.S if need be. at this time her strength is adequate for daily activities around the town we live in. As for a captain aboard is good till I get familiar with the boat operation and rule of the water ways. We have looked at late 80's 90's boat like Hatteras, Navigator, Albin, Sea-ray. mostly online some in person like the hat and Sea-ray. I want to get a boat without having to do much upgrades I can do basic maintenance. I will get survey, hull and mechanical on boat if we like the boat.
