To Ken Bracewell No, it's not Indian Achiever, the Empress will be bigger than Achiever! Carl, it may be a good idea to split the pusuit again in photographs and questions, thank you.
Luc, We already have a thread running that is called "YachtTrivia Pursuit; Photo Round". The next question and image should be posted in that thread. Here's the link... http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/g...4472-yacht-trivia-pursuit-photo-round-27.html
Which YF member's birthday is today? (September 1st). I have no ideas at the moment. I'll come up with a yachting related question in the next time...I hope tomorrow.
Now I have a question: Which shipyard made the refit of the yacht which is named after the song: "Somewhere over the rainbow" and give the name of the yacht. Good luck!
What southern Mississippi custom yacht manufacturer built a “one of” yacht that was so well liked by an experience captain that he had to have an identical one built for himself. 3 part question; name the builder, the first yacht and the twin. Cheers all
Same question as before, but easier now! Which yacht is now called "Indian Empress". Since it's been in all magazines, that's the easier part. To spice it upa little bit, also add the logo of the new owner's main company. Still very easy, but we haveto get this hread going aing, right Carl?
Is it the ex "Al Mirqab"? To the logo: UB stands for "United Breweries". The complete name is: "United Breweries Group". It's all right?
Sorry, I guess my question was a bit obscure. To close it out, I was thinking of Trinity Yachts and the first build was the “Maloekoe”; A 94’ Tri, cargo-deck trawler. This first build inspirited “Whale Song”. I may be mistaken but I think the owner/capt. passed away shortly after a few voyages and this amazing vessel was sold. Not sure of her new name.
Here is a boat some will probably identify immediately, but it is a unique design worth checking out.
Yes I know this boat, but it is first time I have seen the "camper". We had one for sale last summer, completely renovated, but without the canvas on your pictures. Thanks for posting and I´ll let someone else tell the brand/type.
If I'm not mistaken, that Bertram above is a rare 24' Camper model. viking 58 and Lars-- you'll be pleased to know that I had the great fortune to run a 24 all around Biscayne Bay over 25 years ago. She was what Bertram Yacht refered to as a 'company boat' and could be used by select employees. No radio, no toilet, so, not many takers except for yours truly. Even with the helm station up forward, the ride in a seaway was quite plush due to her steep deadrise.

We called this boat Bertram 24´ Baron...? Is Moppie the correct name? Have a look; http://www.galarbryggan.se/main/form.asp?IndexID=1284
That was fun V-58! Thanks. My gut instinct told me Moppie. But the pop-top threw me for a loop. With the overnight option, if glass from this era begins to parallel what classic wood has done in recent years, it might be a good investment. Truly a stunning example...
Lars, I believe your 24 is a 'Moppie'. The Barons-- they came in two flavors of 20 and 28 ft.--had a unique styling feature: a one-piece plexiglass windshield, as opposed to the sectioned glass-in-aluminum-frame of the 'Moppie's. A 28 Baron equipped with twin 235 Holman Moody engines ( a hotrod for it's time ) cost $11,061.80 ( yes, they had the eighty cents in the brochure!) in 1969. Claimed top speed was 48+ statute MPH.
