At 95 m / 311 ft the oceAnco "Trick One" today aka "Al Mirqab" BTW ... if anyone is interested, I think she recently was up for sale! Pull out your check books!
Al Said : 103.85 m Picchiotti, 1982 ? (Hope I am wrong because I will not be able to give next question before tomorrow evening....)
Since you asked "ever built in Italy" it must be the 390' Savoia II. Built in La Spezia by Royal Italian Arsenal in 1921. Served as a Royal Yacht and later for Mussolini, before finally sunk by Allied aircraft in 1943.
... since Kalmeran can't post a new question before tomorrow evening and since you're answer can be considered partially valid, why don't you come up with the question? BTW, its becoming more & more difficult to find a good question rather then the answer...!
Well, I continue the path of largest yachts... What was the name of the largest yacht ever launched in France?
Just a TRY CMN effectively launched Bermie some years ago. She is 49M. CMN say to have 52M - 60M - 74M in project, perhaps in build, certainly not launched. Could it be Bermie then?
As with Savoia II, this boat is now history, but still famous. MedRascal can enjoy a restaurant with her name...
????????????? Lars, you sound like the oracle of Delphi! Can you please acknowledge a correct answer? I didn't quite follow the restaurant thing!
Sorry, your yachts are still too small. The restaurant with the same name as the yacht is in Monaco, with a nice terrace for a lunch in the spring sun...
Bigger but with sticks and cloth Phocea? Ex Club Med race boat. Ex Bernard Tapie, now Mrs or Ms Ayoub's (not sure of spelling though)
You are closing in, it is a schooner, built in the same bay as Club Mediterranée which is the largest French yacht sailing today at her 75 m in length. But as I said, my boat is now part of the history, especially in Monaco...
Maybe we should stick to questions that Google can answer... I´ll give you this yacht, she was built for Prince Albert 1er of Monaco in 1911, 282 feet or 89 meter long, by Forg. & Chant. de la Méditerranée in La Seyne which is in the bay of Toulon. Her name was Hirondelle I. (Swallow) As I think Phocea, the ex Club Mediterranée is the largest yacht built in France still sailing today, I´ll give you another question on her; On her large fore-sail is a picture with the name Phocea and there are three more words written, what does it say?
Let´s go on, the sail on Phocea says "Animus et Veritas" and I will not ask what it means since I don´t know if the owner is refering to Dr Jungs thesis... An easier question now; What is the name of the largest American-registered yacht?
