   On trips, that's SOP for me. The forecasts are most up to date and the engine room is cooler. Plus it's a great excuse to seperate from the owners.

   I take a quick look at the engine room right after tieing up to make sure there's nothing leaking or brewing, I check the fluids in the morning before leaving. Everyone has their own routine, but sometimes you have to seperate from the owners and do your own thing.
