will kelp cutters help with Maine lobster traps

I had a 38' Bertram up in Maine and installed "Spurs" on the trailing ends of the struts with the rotating cutting blades on the shafts. I always did my best to avoid lobster trap buoys, however sometimes you simply cant avoid them. The spurs did the trick and cut the lines and the buoy would wash out from under the boat.
