We have found boat launched provide hours of entertainment on hot busy weekends! Here's a scarry video from up here in the Scookumchuck tidal rapids... http://dashpointpirate.typepad.com/...ugboat-capsizing-at-skookumchuck-narrows.html There's a little foul language from the shoreside. When it's upside down can you hear the diesels screaming away? Everyone survived and the boat was righted.
precisely! before i saw your post i was going to ask, how in sam hill did that happen! did they forget which was the boat and which was the truck??
Hey, when you don't know how to back up a trailer you do what you have to do. I mean, you don't expect him not to use his boat do you. Besides, the truck was looking a bit dirty. Nice old Montauk.
LOL! well of course, if one pulls the boat out of the water, it's obvious that one must then pull the boat into the water! of course the true lesson here is the dangers of inbreeding. Mike
I guess this wasn't as recent as it looks, the above video with the Royal Denship accident happened in 2005. Here's a good reason to know you vessels height and bridge clearance, looks like a 60 foot Chris Craft. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VMrrT4X6Qg&NR=1&feature=fvwp
A hard one to call from that video alone. Flat calm and no wind. My guess would be mechanical failure. Judging by the prop wash I’d say only the port engine is working. I'm surprised that they didn’t make fast while alongside after hitting the quay.
The commercial ferry Ariake, carrying 3,300 tons of cargo and 28 passengers and crew, lists to starboard in a storm in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Kumano city in Mie prefecture, central Japan. Passengers and crew members were rescued by the coast guard from a ferry that rolled onto its side in rough seas.
That boat has hit many things over the past number of years. I towed her up to Bradford back in 2004 (?) and she didn't even tow well. She has azipods and my guess has always been that whoever installed the propulsion system had no idea what they were doing. I've seen several different captains crunch things up on that beast.
Ice breaker stuck in ice! Nothing to report in terms of damage, but the Russian ice breaker turned cruise ship, Captain Khlebnikov, has become stuck in the ice around Antarctica. To keep everyone busy, they are using the ship's two helicopters to take passengers on tours. The only real problem, aside from being stuck in the ice, has been some sunburned guests. I guess you can't call for help if YOU are the ice breaker! Full report here: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,575382,00.html
