This is what a Ustica hydro normally looks like so yes, she was quite literally "flying"

Woke up in the middle of the night and realized I had forgotten to say the picture of the Ustica hydro came from their website.

This happenend las summer in Amsterdam

This happenend during the event called "Sail" in Amsterdam.

An event where all classic sailing yachts from all over the world come here for display. A great event.

There are so many small craft around to watch these great sailing yachts.
A lot of small accidents happen. 8 years ago my little boat was also sandwiched between two bigger yachts and you could hear the deck crunch......

I now found a video that was also shown on the dutch television this summer.

This is a close call. You can see how a barge comes speeding down this narrow busy part of amsterdam and i out of control. He crashes on a small yacht called a Rahpsody 29. these boats were built in Turkey. Yard has gone bankrupt 3 years ago. I used to own the same model that has the accident. Mine was in blue.

Not really stable boats, but nice for the Amsterdam canals.

    See video below.

How about this mess? Lake Havasu during Spring Break. The boats look like a school of fish.

(Warning! DO NOT DRINK AND BOAT ON LAKE HAVASU! There are cops*everywhere*and the punishment is just as bad a s a DUI. Plus it is*extremely*dangerous on the water. Have one of your buddies stay sober.)

They are saying that because of the event Sail the were special guidelines concerning safety on the water, but the barger was neglecting all guidelines concerning speed. The captain was arrested.

    No one was injured !!!!

Honey, I could have sworn today was our annual New Buffalo "Beach It Party". Where is everyone? And who is that rude man taking pictures?

NOTE: Not an attempt to make light of hurricane Sandy conditions.

This happened Sunday, well before storm conditions grew on Lake Michigan. She got hung up on a shoal 100 yards off shore, and on Monday, as the lake grew, TowBoat US got her into this position to safely ride out the big blow which came that night and Tuesday shown in the images.

George Bush's boat high and dry in 2010. The guy in the white boat didn't have radar and was following Bush in some heavy fog. Bush missed the entrance to the river and the white boat followed suit. The Secret Service boat that follows was far enough back to avoid the grounding. No damage except for the skeg on the middle outboard.

It looks nice but I am still amazed that people still build such big yachts with wood. That is a floating disaster.

I can see the owner in that last photo looking at the dust trail left by the BBQ "Painters".
I think Dubai is going to become a very small place to be for them from today.....
