U-Line Icemaker Problem

My Carver 3807 is a 1991....original U-Line and still working like a champ. I think like anything else there are going to be exceptions both "extra" good or "extra" bad in the same line. Maybe mine is a particularly good one, but I've seen a number of other boats as old as mine and older with their original unit still in place and working fine too, so I don't see any reason to condemn the whole line.

My 83 model has what I believe to be the original icemaker and it is still going strong. I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I figured out all I had to do was flip the switch and it would freeze and make ice.
