It's good to see a proper lookout posted on the bow. Not many do that.

    Greetings --
Does anyone have a tether on the construction lines of the President's yacht Sequoia?
    Thanks.

Greetings right back atcha, and welcome to YF. Please, tell me what "a tether on the construction lines" means, so I can tell you whether I have one or not.

Ah… forgive my attempt to color my language with a nautical flare….
My question in plain English is: I’d like to build a model of the President’s yacht, Sequoia - Does anyone have knowledge where to get, or already have in their possession, the drafting lines (architectural drawings) of the boat?
I hope this wording is more clear — Sorry for the confusion.
    Thanks.
    Chris

Higgo805, there's no need to forgive you or for you to be sorry; I like word play, even when I don't understand it. The administrator of this website regularly uses word play, as does an honest yacht broker (is that an oxymoron?) on this site, and they are quite good at it. So, don't let my ignorance in this case stifle your authenticity in the future.

My Father-in-law used to own Aurora V which is the last of the Auroras and was John Trumpy’s personal boat for awhile. He bought it and brought it from East Coast to Newport. He had full time guys that pretty much sanded, varnished and painted continuously. The boat was absolutely stunning. He donated it when time came to be done with it.

They did not have the lines in their files.... But would like to have them if I someday do. :)

In that case, my next call would be to Jim Moore. I don't know that he would have them, but he's probably the most experienced restorer of Trumpy yachts in recent years.

Good suggestion. Made headway here. Apparently the ship's original plans were destroyed in a burn barrel during a fit rage while the boat was first constructed.

New lines are being drafted using electronic mapping technology but they are still a few nautical miles away from being done... Whoops -- there I went again. :)

So, my question has been answered – Thanks to you bunch! You guys have been great!

P.S. Seqouia's refit is taking place at French & Webb boatyard in Belfast, ME, not Front Street, and is off to a slow start.

I just saw LITCHFIELD LADY at Ocean Reef, now called BERNADETTE. Looks to be in great shape, but unfortunately the transom is now bright, which spoils the architectural purity of her wine glass stern. Built 20 years apart, she and ENTICER are the only two Trumpys with that stern. I took a photo , but I am not sure how to post it.
