Trinity Yachts and the International SeaKeepers Society team up on SeaKeeper 1000 TM Monitoring System​

Gulfport, Mississippi, USA – August 7 th, 2007 - Trinity Yachts, LLC announced they have agreed to donate the fabrication and installation of the structural foundation, including the through-hull fittings, to allow SeaKeeper 1000TM oceanographic and atmospheric monitoring systems to be installed at no charge to all of their new builds.

As an owner of a new Trinity superyacht, one can now elect to have an installation of the SeaKeeper 1000 systems installed with no additional alterations required to the hull or superstructure.

According to John Dane III, president, “As an Official Yacht Partner of the International SeaKeepers Society, we are excited to adapt all of our new builds to the necessary requirements, encouraging and simplifying future installations of the innovative SeaKeepers system.” Dane continued, “As the superyacht industry expands around the world, our yachts are sailing to many new and exotic destinations, so it was a natural decision to continue our support of this global marine environmental program.”

The SeaKeeper 1000 monitoring system takes precise oceanographic (salinity, sea-surface temperature, pH) and meteorological (air temperature, wind speed/direction, barometer) measurements every minute, and then sends its collected data automatically to the world via satellite. Unlike other monitoring systems, the SeaKeeper 1000 is a “plug and play” unit that offers scientists the flexibility and cost-efficiency of interchangeable sensors. Its automated, modular and packaged design helped it to win the prestigious Tech Museum Intel Award for “International Environmental Technology Benefiting Humanity.”

Since its auspicious beginnings, the SeaKeeper 1000 system has been recognized throughout the scientific community for its unique ability to provide reliable and extremely cost-effective data, including recognition from United Nations Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), who issue joint certificates of participation in the Global Ocean Observing System to all SeaKeeper-equipped vessels. The SeaKeeper 1000 is being tested and evaluated by the prestigious Scripps Institution of Oceanography for near-shore monitoring, and is currently being used by NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuaries Program and U.S. National Weather Service.

The International SeaKeepers is a non-profit marine conservation organization committed to helping scientists and global research managers obtain the crucial data they need to understand the causes and solutions to our declining marine ecosystems.
