Mine is a smaller 430DL. I was curious how far aft you put it. I think my current location is too far forward so will likely move it aft when the hole saw comes goes to work.
Test it inside of the hull in a ziploc full of water, it will shoot through, I see lots of people install them slightly right of the pad starboard side.......
Hard to get to much of the hull due to subfloor. I’ll see what I can reach with the xducer in a bag of water before I order a new unit and punch a hole.
Not sure in a bag it can read thru coring. Finding space for ducer and not to sit flat just stbd and with access is the challenge. But if you can a B60 is perfect for that boat.
I've seen them mounted dry on a blob of silicone attached to the hull and read just fine up to 50 mph.
I will likely go with a B60 and install it this winter after our short season ends. It just seems like a better option and something that will be more reliable. Even when the current Xducer I have was reading thru the hull on the previous boat it wasn't super reliable. And at one point the liquid leaked out and it quit reading until the mount was sealed up again and re-filled. The B60 avoids all that.
