Yup, I have kept my TWICs updated since they were invented, shortly after 9/11 meh think.
The TWIC has come in handy occasionally trying to enter the commercial side of Port Everglades in a regular pleasure vehicle rather than a Big Truck.
Yes, expensive renewal every 5 years but deductible on taxes and it may come in handy now and then, just like the USCG ticket, if I get kicked out of the house…
(Maybe I come knock on your door, or Capt’n J’s door, qualified to help out either way, but need TLC and late morning wake up calls with a full breakfast before casting off the lines)

1/4 mile aweigh from my door, you will discover about a dozen red dots on your chest.
I sleep late and well knowing nobody is knocking on my door wanting a full breakfast before doing anything...

I also sleep late because after 3 wives, I'm still not getting any breakfast before I do anything...

It's a few wives in sniper position also.
We just sponsored a seafood boil last Wednesday. The hood is happy,, Wives are happy,, very happy..
    I luv this hood.

We just re-elected our sheriff. His name is Gator.
He also likes our hood. Real quiet,,, for him and his deputies.

Luv ya brother, but ya need to tap on Skippy J for work or door knocking.
The wives run this hood, no door knockers coming in here.

Now, Can you do headliners and curtain work. I may be able to get you a temp pass...

Nah, not a full breakfast bro, I am an almost a vegetarian , no need to cook a side of bacon, or a big ham.
I do however eat seafood, for those into labels it is called Pescatarianism: Lobster is ok, but not too early, it goes more with an omelette around noon or so.
After the lobster I won’t mind a cappuccino, a double is even better. (Don’t be shy )
Fresh squeezed OJ of course goes with the above power lunch before we go boating, but if I am sleepy after the nice home cooked lobster omelette with multi grain European style bread slices, wake me up later for the 8 Bell watch, but be gentle, I am almost retied.
    Thx Bro.

You have to put the TWIC number in when you book the ticket where it asks for global entry id or something along those lines./

I applied for mine years ago so I could submit the application receipt for a renewal but never picked it up :) Used the exception letter for following renewals since.

One of the reasons they required a TWIC application was to eliminate the need for applicants to go to a USCG office to be fingerprinted.

btw, they no longer issue passport style licenses but single sheets that folds up. Apparently the booklet were too expensive and the machine kept breaking down.

Darn, I like the Passport style tickets, oh well.
I used the TWIC a few times in Fort Lauderdale going to Port Everglades by road to get on ships.
There was talk about TWICs being required for air crew, but nothing came of it.
Doubt I will renew it again.
