    I see more failures with the electric/hydraulic than what you have. IF you are planning on switching to electric pumps convert to the Seastar Optimus system. All electric to small hydraulic pumps near the rudders. BUT problem with that is you don't know when you have rudders that are binding and then the seastar alarms and you lose steering entirely. With what you have, you'll feel if it's heavier to turn and if you lose a motor can still turn it.
