Hmm...thanks , that's good to know. I will check when I haul out in May...But , love them I do, along with David Martin's super layouts, The Leeks kind of thought things out like that, but most likely didn't do that and all bearing I have on my 1981 Ocean are probably the same size...Thought holds up production..and takes time.

I think every time I'm in my engine crawl space room:mad:, I'll give the old shaft couplers a shot of PB Blaster this summer for a partial shaft pull in the fall.
My intermediates are , I think, from 1981....

Wow what a clean and bright bilge! The Carver 506 I'm buying is pretty grimy and on my short list is deep clean and paint.

I'm in the process of purchasing a 40' Cabo Convertible 2005 hull and am doing some research on the strut issues that some have experienced. So if anyone wants to chime in please do. I'm also looking at install new mechanical seals on the shafts and am curious what others have installed. I had the PSS dripless seals on my 35 Cabo express and those preformed well. How did things go for CaboFly/Omega?

On my Cabo I changed to the Tide shaft seals and when I sold her 3 yrs later they were perfect plus and I always had an extra seal on the shaft. In 13 yrs of owning the Cabo never had a strut issue so no comment. Did replace the cutlass bearings about every 3 yrs on average.

Was very happy with PSS Pro system. Sold the 40 last Sept and still speak to the new owner regularly and he has had no issues to report.

Bought a 48 Cabo that currently has original OEM set up with new lip seals. The moment they give me any issues I will be installing PSS Pro's on new boat as well.

I just completed a 1,000 + nautical mile trip bringing to 40’ Cabo back home to Virginia Beach. The only issue I had was with the stbd OEM shaft seal. It overheated due to lack of cooling water flow. Do you have any drawings and or info on these types of seals? I’m trying to determine what if any service I can complete while the boat is in the water. I’m also putting together my plan when I haul the boat out of the water which will include installation of the PSS seals.

Might bead blast the Cabo seals and they can be a nice paper weight on my desk. I really like the clamping collar on the PSS Pro seals - a good simple design that backs up the set screws in the rotating collar.
