They will be in a very complex situation. Stop? Wait? Proceed as normal and assume the risk or stop until they know something? Either way the boat is in the way. Assume the buyer will eventually get it or assume they'll have to go through years of legalities and they'll end up holding it for auction. It's an awful dilemma even if it's a saleable boat, they won't be able to sell it for years and until something is resolved, they will incur costs but won't see another Euro of revenue. Expenses without revenue are a problem and I expect most builders will do no more work, just spend what they must to protect the boat until a resolution. Even those expenses and storage costs will mount up quickly. I've seen boats tangled in legal disputes sit on an out corner of a property shrink wrapped and untouched for years.

Now, this is an interesting story, MV Ragnar is stuck in Norway. Not on an official sanctions list. Not under arrest. Just they don't have enough fuel to leave and no one in Norway will sell them fuel. Crew is British. Ownership believed Russian but not verified.

Not sure how deep the De Vries pockets are but if it were a Van Lent, I would assume they would just finish it and market it. LVMH has deep pockets. I don’t think it would be too difficult to argue breach of contract, thus, freeing it up for sale. I believe Larsen has been in this position a couple times (Tis and I believe Radiant).

I'm very curious to see the interior of Dilbar, the old one was a bit dated, for my personal taste and...I'd say bizarre with a lectern in the office
Solandge..the only things I'd save are the 15m tree of life and the tenders :D

My wife and her family were stranded in Ukraine, they lived in a shelter for 2 weeks. A jet plane crashed into the building 500 meters next door. lots of people died. They fled the city under conflict, after a 13-hour train journey. They reached Italy from the Polish border.

I still can't believe it feels like a movie scene. they sunk my pershing for pleasure.

I will hate the Russian people all my life.

I would say I understand your anger, but to suggest I do without having been through what you've been through is disingenuous. None of us can. However, I do want to point out this isn't all Russian people. It's those in control. However, there are Russians appalled by what is going on including some even protesting while knowing that means jail. Often governments only represent a percentage of the population and in autocratic rule such as Russia, that may be a small but very powerful percentage.

Back to you, I'm just happy you and your family have escaped safely and wish you the best in recovery. Don't underestimate the impact of what you've been through and as victims be sure to get help and counseling as needed, especially to deal with PTSD. The full impact may not be apparent at first, but I imagine what you've been through would change my entire outlook on life and the world.

I understand your hate. It is a strong word. You and your family are living through a nightmare, like a movie scene as you say. Unthinkable.
I, for one, pity the Russian people. Just like in the USA, about half of the population seem to be on board with who ever is in charge. I imagine in Russia it is less who approve of the current maniacs in poser, the silent majority probably. I pity them. I pray for them, for all the victims of Putin's war and for you and your family.
The sinking of your Pershing bothers me too. I do hope you fair well.

Yup, Mr. A has confirmed the event and the symptoms but declined to call it poisoning or finger the Kremlin which would render him useless as a 'go between' The Guardian claims he is now in Poland 'helping' American and Polish authorities open lines of communication with the Russians. Sounds like Rehabilitation to me.

I read on a European site and also on American site Boattest.com that Ukrainian RIB builder BRIG has announced that many of its 420 employees and almost all of their family members have been relocated to safety by its European and American dealer network and that the remaining employees have taken up arms and hope to defend the factory.

I've been really curious about how other countries might treat the crew in this situation. US law could not be clearer about 'financial transactions or other dealings' with sanctioned persons/companies: 'U.S. persons must comply with OFAC regulations, including all U.S. citizens and permanent resident aliens regardless of where they are located.' (OFAC is the US Treasury Department that oversees US sanctions enforcement. In legal circles, they're known to be a particularly diligent and aggressive federal enforcement agency.

If you're a US citizen or green card holder and you're working for a person/company who is on our sanctions list, you're exposing yourself to civil fines and depending on the circumstances, potentially even criminal exposure. Not many US citizens on these big yachts and even fewer on Russian yachts. So, it might be moot, as a practical matter. Where the real danger lies is for US companies in the marine industry that might directly - or indirectly through cut-outs - supply parts to these vessels.

Holland America Line has announced that an agreement has been signed with the Dutch Government to dock the Volendam (55,000 GRT) at Rotterdam and house 1500 Ukrainian families who require temporary shelter as they escape the current invasion. It is anticipated that these folks will be able to return to Ukraine on or before July 1 but that will be reassessed as the situation evolves. Some of the costs of the charter are underwritten by the Micky and Madelaine Arison Family Foundation of Miami who also announced a 3 million dollar grant to assist Ukrainian crew members and their families throughout the Carnivale group of companies. The majority of the costs of the Volendam charter are covered by the Dutch Government

According to the filing, Company A, W-1 and W-2 were told that the statements they made to the government would not be used against them in criminal prosecution and they were "not targets of the government's investigation."

"not targets of the government's investigation."
Rite!! They have to still survive.
If you know where they worked and what they did, you think not printing their name did anything?
W-1 & 2 are walking with red targets on their backs now.
