Owner came up with this color himself and we had the paint manufacturer duplicate it. I never would have guessed it but I have since painted three other boats with the exact same color! And no, it's NOT a Jarrett Bay boat, took this pic at splashing in their launch well.

Reminds me of a fire truck - safety yellow.

Perhaps someone was feeling a need to be seen. :D

I've seen several SF's in various shades of yellow, blue, teal, even pink. Most look pretty stand-out and sharp. Far cry from the artsey topic of this thread. Large yachts should save their art for the interior or the design. A well designed yacht doesn't need paintings on it's hull that can only take away from it's beauty (or disguise it's flaws).

That is a beauty in most any color except maybe photo-chromic fuchsia.

Looks a bit like Zinc-Chromate Primer mixed with white for a pastel look. Must be an aircraft guy.....:)

I apologise Ed! I thought the thread was started about paint colors differing from the "norm" and thought this color certainly qualified. I totally agree with you that the art should be in the design and not just the paint job. I am always asked by the owners what I think of different colors and I am red/green color blind (and yes it is a big pain every time I renewal my license!). I tell them it doesn't matter what I think, they are the ones who have to live with it but a couple of rolls of 320 can change it anytime.

Interestingly enough, when we sent the sample off to Germany for duplication the rep told me they were painting more yachts in custom colors now than stock ones.

Thanks for the compliment! I really wanted to try one of the chameleon colors that change with viewing angle like my truck but I guess that will have to wait till a later time. Yes, it is quite a neon chartreuse and the owner does fly both in the air and on the water in this boat!
