That s one of the side benefit of the CC... we can easily use it to refuel the jet ski and the tender Which we ll keep anyway. Sometimes we get low on gas after 3 days so it means coming back near Staniel or highborne. It’s a pita. Then indeed Staniel often runs out.

California startup NDB claims laboratory "proof of concept" success for their Nano Diamond Self Charging Batteries. They take used radioactive graphite isotopes which have somehow been restructured to make them safer and then wrap them in several layers of synthetic diamond, each layer 11 times stronger than the strongest current battery casing and able to withstand temperatures of 3,632 degrees F (1000 degrees more than the melting point of steel). They claim larger versions could power cars, boats and small planes. At this size they project batteries that will last 90 years and can be reinstalled from older to newer vehicles. At the size to power a cell phone the battery could last 28,000 years. (!) Smaller sizes to AAA are possible they claim. Since the battery 'charges while it goes' there is little or no down time waiting for a recharge. Power availability is continuous. The proof of concept tests were performed by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge, UK. Now they are starting Beta versions to see if these things actually work in real life and safely. The actual electricity is produced by something called 'inelastic scattering' which I understand not at all. Interesting to watch going forward.
