I'd love to find a couple of those Post scripts! As to pictures of me enjoying MY Post, that's gonna have to wait. Spending days under her de-blisterizing is decidedly NOT enjoyable!
She really could use a peel, it's just not in the cards right now. The fellow I bought her from really did some ****** work on her, this mostly looks like old, poorly done repairs. Sure is a bunch of them. Oh well, this too will pass.
Gotcha. This afternoon I'm taking the Grand Banks to the hill for a bottom job. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't need some blister work. Hopefully not too much!
Wow, that shot of the house side looks great!! What year is she?? I have my gal going in for a topside repaint at the end of the summer. Right now, I could nickname her the Crack whore...
Thanks! She is in Teira Ceia FL which is immediately south of the Skyway bridge and is a 1984 43, hull number 6 But, I can't take credit for her. She is not mine yet, hope everything works out with the survey....
Post is prepped again with food and drinks for the weekend so next clean out the salon! Whole weekend around 80F and 6-7ft waves so we have some fun in the sun!
Enjoying a little fishing on Bodacious. Small thresher out at Butterfish Hole off Montauk 8/13. Circle hook. Catch and release
First overnight of the season to Port Washington. Let 2014 begin! I didn't realize how much the stainless weather strip on the glass stands out against the dark windows. Has anyone successfully painted this? I would think paint would peel in no time over stainless.
I would scuff the SS with a good emery, then tip and roll with a quality 2 part marine paint like interlux....
Worked all week on starboard engine...disassemble, renew parts, clean, paint and finally made a sea trail and for now this 1981 Detroit 6-71 is a clean and leak free engine... (It takes some time to mount and remount parts, to get it leak free but worth all the effort we put in it!!)
Original DDCs had a reputation for slinging oil. It takes some time, patience and 'bunch of rum,, but all of the Detroits I maintain have clean bilges. Hats off and good job to all who can tame our beast. 71s rule, rc
Enjoying....yeah, right! https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hph...374_679874888714311_1091717616493729578_n.jpg
