(out of topic mode): The Dilbar left OceAnco yesterday for her first sea trials, only 4 days after the first river trial !! That's amazing

Hi All
I'm new on the site. Saw the pics and recognised it as Ämbrosiana. But you all calling it Alfa 4.. I knew sometime ago that She was renamed after the original German owner pulled out but never Knew what the new name was... Wasnt till I just checked out the PDF that I saw the name Ambrosiana.. So nice to see her afloat..Spent what seemed to be a life time designing a lot of the Engineering on her. Still have the original drawing for a lot of it.. She was one of my favourites.. Alongside Lady Christine and Pegasus that is... Nice pics anyway.. I have a lot of pics from all the yachts by oceanco up to Lady Lola, if anyones interested I'll dig them out and post them

Ambrosiana(Alfa1v) original designs

Taking me back to the good old days finding these. This is the originasl Model for the lazerette of Alfa IV. I still have contact with the original Captain and we often talk about the project.. This was a 'one man/one compartment ' idea. it worked for this boat but not so well for the others.. It would be interesting to see if she was finished to these original concept Model. I was told by the captain she was but knowing Oceanco the way I do, I doubt it. Ive just been looking at the original CAD Model to get these JPGS. So strange.. The file is some 6-7 years old now.

I was reading thru the rest of this thread cos my pics were moved(not a complaint) I saw a question by catmando. Hope that person stil visits as it was asked along time ago. The bigger yachts are infact rolled onto a floating barge then towed to rotterdam and like basbas says it all sinks.. I have a question though.. Why was Alfa IV take on the barge.. shes not really any bigger than Lady Christine or certainly Pegasus(after the extention) and they and a lot of the others were launched on the platform at Oceanco. the tractors roll the yacht out of the hanger at about 1" p/s wheel it round to a permanent lift just big enuf to take a yacht of this size . then the lift takes the boat down on massive hydraulic(I think) rams, then she simply floats off. The 80mt + yachts are to big for this way. So why was Alfa taken. is the lift finally given in or is there even less water round the factory. I have some pictures somewhere of a lot of the earlier launches. I'll dig them out.. If you go to the Al mirqab thread you can see a foto there of the tractors under the hull on a foto I posted this morning of the propellors
