    Which is why, I'd imagine, it's near impossible to get a transient slip. Who gives up their summer "cottage" on the river.

    Not sure what defines "near impossible" as it's rarely more difficult than a phone call or a VHF hail to get overnight dockage.

    Do most places on Long Island call you to offer their services and wares, instead? :confused:

    Really? I haven't been in there since the 90's. Back then it was all dockqueens and day cruisers. Never knew they kept transient slips. Good to know.

    Been that way since 2002 when the Feds mandated to the city that any boat docked at a city (not specifically city-owned) marina must be able to leave under its own ability (sail or power) at any time. Homeland insecurity or some such.
