News: Two 24M Yachts Of Very Different Styles In Build

24-meter yachts are popular but there are two that are currently under construction that could not be further apart in terms of purpose, style and capabilities. They two YF is highlighting is the brand new Feadship F80 model which the yard recently released information on and the third Circa Marine 24-meter that is also under construction and was recently sold.

The F80 is not the first time Feadship has built a small yacht. In fact, their earlier days produced smaller yachts as customary. As an example, the "Bernardus J" is a yacht from Feadship that is also around the 24-meter mark and was built in 1970! The yard suggests that the new F80 is a response of the yard to growing demand for smaller yachts in the 24-meter range. "The F80 brings the craftsmanship, comfort and quality associated with Feadship's much larger custom yachts to a new size category," the yard said.

The 24-meter F80 will combine some traditional styling with modern capabilities and amenities as well as space onboard. The hull and superstructure of the first F80 has been formulated in aluminium and is believed to have been made at Feadship's Makuum facilities. The yacht however was moved to the De Vries plant for outfitting and completion in 2027. Top speed for this yacht is likely to be around 33-knots.

On the other hand, Circa Marine recently sold the third hull in their 24-meter Adventurer Yacht range. The keel laying work has been done already and work commenced. Delivery is now expected a year and a half from now. This yacht has been sold to an American customer who was looking for the 19-meter FPB64 model. Their focus shifted to this 24-meter that allows for a more customized build to better suit their needs.

As a reminder, this 24-meter class from Circa Marine started with the 2021 build "Mollymawk" and was followed in 2022 by the "Deo Juvante" as the second hull. Built in all aluminium as well these yachts tend not to be painted but offer a rugged, efficient and comfortable platform to conduct long passages and exploration on. In fact, the vessel can be owner-operated or on much longer passages have some crew aboard. Power is to be provided via a pair of SCANIA DI09 diesels.
