NEWS: The Best of the 2022 Monaco Show

Delta Powerboats has two of their boats on display; the 80-foot Shockwave and a 60-foot Open. The award winning Delta line is designed by YachtForums moderator Lars Modin who posts under the screen name "AMG". Lars has designed hundreds of yachts over the years and he is one of the original founding members of YF.

"AHPO" (formerly Project 'Enzo') is a near 116-meter superyacht built by German yard Lurssen, finished in 2022. She showcases design by the experienced Nuvolari and Lenard team. She will have the distinction of being the largest superyacht to attend the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). The interior is highly voluminous at 5,260 GT which can accommodate up to fourteen guests when needed. The beam is 18.21-meters and has a draft of 4.3-meters. Thanks to a pair of MTU diesels her top speed is in the region of 18-knots.

The next yacht is not a new yacht per se and has attended the Monaco Yacht Show before. However, it is the first time it is attending in its present incarnation. We are speaking of the Amels superyacht "Here Comes The Sun". She underwent a massive refit that finished up in 2021. She grew from 83-meters to 89-meters thanks to a 6-meter stern extension designed by Azure Naval Architects. The extension allowed for a larger swimming pool and beach club facilities. Other areas of the exterior were also changed with some balconies being added and of course she now has a dark hull and accents.

"Project X" at 88-meters just completed prior to sailing to Monaco for the show. She is berthed in front of AHPO at the show and surely will received alot of coverage. Golden Yachts put this vessel to the water back in April and since then has had the finishing touches added. The signature 'X' motifs can see seen through the design, primarily banding the multi-deck atrium and even around the edge of the main swimming pool on the aft deck. The design on the exterior is by Ken Freivokh with a length of 88-meters, a beam of 14.8-meters and a draft of 4.5-meters. Her internal volume is close to 3,000 GT and that has been styled by Studio Massari.

Next on the list is the Abeking & Rasmussen build "B2". You may have known her under her previous name "C2" being built by the yard in 2008. In 2019 she re-emerged from a substantial refit that saw her length increased from 78-meters to 85.65-meters. That extra length afforded B2 a substantial beach club on the lower deck and a glass-bottomed pool above. B2 is berthed behind AHPO at the show.

"ENERGY" is the 78-meter 'Fully Custom' superyacht Amels/Damen Yachting recently completed. That yacht is at the show for the first time and is sandwiched between "Albatross" and "C". The exterior was penned by Espen Oeino with an interior by Zuretti. The internal volume of ENERGY is approximately 2,886 GT.

The 75-meter "Kenshō" is also at the show but she is at anchor. The superyacht was built by Admiral Yachts and completed in 2022. Standing out for her design by Azure Naval Architects she also has an equally zen-like and different interior - in terms of style and arrangement- by Jouin Manku. The interior volume is around 1,990 GT and can accommodate guests in as many as six staterooms.

New to the show is the 2021-built Benetti "TRIUMPH". She is 65.4-meters with an exterior by Cassetta and an interior by Benetti themselves. The interior showcases spaces worth 1,244 GT. Construction was completed in steel and aluminium and she is powered by MTU engines with a top speed near 17-knots. The yacht can roam for 4,700 nautical miles at 12-knots with 120,000 LT of fuel onboard. She was built at Benetti under the project name "Vogue".

The 62-meter "RIO" arrived at the show for the first time. This superyacht recently was completed by CRN and showcases design lines by Omega Architects with a vibrant interior by Pulina Exclusive Interiors. The yacht was completed and delivered to her owner in May, 2022. She boasts an internal volume just over 1,200 GT and this affords ample room for up to twelve guests in six cabins and fifteen crew. At 62-meters she has a beam of 11.2-meters and a draft of 3.15-meters. She is at the show berthed next the Feadship "Somnium".

Fincantieri Yachts announced at the Monaco Yacht Show that they are building large 'yachts' in association with the Four Seasons brand. The first one is expected to be completed by 2025. By large 'yachts' we are talking about an LOA of 207-meters. The design for the vessel blends two notable features. One from the hotel world and one from the yacht world. The first aspect is from the Four Seasons Surfside hotel in Florida, USA while the other is from vintage and classic yacht "Christina O". Accommodation will be in 222 guests across 95 suites blending the best of the cruiseship world with that of a superyacht. 11 decks are to be accessible to guests using 5 elevators.

Feadship tends to unveil a new concept every Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) and this year is no different. This year's concept from them is called Concept 'Slice'. It is an 85-meter concept proposal that has a design by Studio de Voogt. It has a multi-level atrium. 20 guests can be accommodated with up to 24 crew. Four dual-fuel gens are proposed to be adapted for both methanol and non-fossil diesel (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil – HVO). Azimuthing pods are envisioned to be the driving propulsion.

T680 Fenice project unveiled at the show between Tankoa and Erico Gobi designs. It is a 68-meter project that is designed by Team For Design as you would expect. The internal volume is around 1,400 GT and have a standard CAT propulsion set up but will also have the option to be hybrid if an owner chooses to go that route. 16.5-knots is the top speed with a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12-knots. There is a 12-meter cascading infinity pool at the stern which pushes the beach club more forward but allowing for the pool feature to punctuate this space. Accommodation is for up to 14 guests in 7 cabins.

Gulf Craft unveiled a new model at this year's show. It is called the Majesty 160. It will fill the the space just below its flagship Majesty 175 and naturally be the second largest model offered by the UAE yard. Cristiano Gatto has designed the vessel with naval architecture by Van Ossanen. 12 guests can be slept in 7 cabins. There will be a crew of 9. 19.5-knots is the targeted top speed with a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M87 diesels. The range is up to 4,300 nautical miles at 10.8-knots and 3,500 nautical miles at 12-knots.

Meyer Yachts presented the ONE50 concept at last year's show but this year they are now allowing a view into what the interior would look like...here is a tease.

Sirena Yachts... known for vessels under 100-feet announced that they plan to build vessels well above the 100-foot mark. In fact they just announced a new line of vessel to go along with this new ethos. There are three vessels in this series which will be 35-meters, 42-meters and 50-meters. Naval Architecture will come from Van Oossanen while the exteriors are by Luca Vallebona.

Benetti unveiled a new concept at the Monaco Yacht Show called "ORO". It has been designed in collaboration with Cassetta. It is the result of understanding what their clients need at the 80-meter segment and in-fact the concept is proposed to be 85-meters.
