  1. Second 35-meter SpaceCat To Commence
The SpaceCat design represents Silver Yachts' foray into catamaran hull configuration for this yard. The yard is believing in this design and hoping that they will attract interest and sell as a result. The first hull in this new model has been under construction and is actually slated for completion this Spring. That hull does not have an owner and was built on speculation. This second hull that the yard will build will also be built on speculation. Metal cutting is due to commence in April.
  2. The first hull will be ready during Spring while the second hull will be ready in 2023. The 36-meter vessel while just above pocket size presents big-yacht volume thanks to her wide footprint as a result of being catamaran-hulled. 13.3-meters will be the beam -that's 44-feet wide-. Such a platform gives sizable volume on the interior and ample deck space too. 300 square meters are on offer on the internal living areas which should translate to close to 3,300 square feet. The exterior decks have even greater space at 575 sqm.
  3. Construction will be from aluminum and feature a low-resistance hull. Being powered by quadruple Volvo IPS 1050 engines the top speed is estimated to be 21-knots while cruising speed is dialed back to 16-knots. The hull form being relatively slim at the water line and aluminium construction presents an overall lighterweight package which has direct benefits for performance. A huge amount of power is not needed to get this vessel up to decent speed.
  4. In terms of design, the familiar and long-time collaborator with Silver Yachts Espen Oeino is once again behind the exterior of this SpaceCat design. "Being built in aluminium, being lightweight and with slender hulls, we're able to operate at speeds with very modest power", Oeino said. Of course this collaboration is just one of many he has had with this Australian yard. Their most recent work in collaboration can be seen on "BOLD" and the in-build "Silver World Explorer"
  5. While these aforementioned yachts were built in Australia the SpaceCat is actually being built in China at an affiliated yard. The first hull is under construction in the Guangdong Province of China and naturally the second hull will be built there too. Amenities and features include a centerline pool on the aft main deck, a hydraulic central swim-platform that can be used to store or float a smaller tender or PWCs. Tender store on the aft sun deck. The remainder of the sun deck forward is enormous and is dedicated to guest use. The SpaceCat model was originally announced at the Singapore Yacht Show in 2019.
