  1. First 100 Explorer Silent Yacht Sold
By now you would have heard about Silent Yachts, a company specializing in making electric yachts -so far under 100-feet-. News is that the yard has secured the sale for the first 100 Explorer taking the company in a new direction. The Silent 100 Explorer is now the yard's flagship yacht. The 31-meter vessel is now expected to be delivered to its owner in 2023.
  2. The design on the exterior is by Marco Casali. The flagship status of the yacht was actually revealed at the recently held Cannes Yachting Festival in September. It is a massive yacht for Silent Yachts and a huge step up from the 80-footers and lesser size vessels that they have been accustomed to building so far. The interior volume is going to be 440 GT thanks to the yachts' massive beam of 13.62-meters ( 45-feet wide.). To be able to run the yacht's propulsion and hotel needs the vessel will be fitted with solar-electric drive train and of course the requisite photovoltaic skin on the upper deck. The yard is predicting a 14 to 16-knot top speed while a more reasonable 10-knot range-extending 10-knot cruise speed is expected.
  3. As a factor to suggest how much additional space is going to be realized on the 100 Explorer, if you compare the previous Silent Yachts flagship, the Silent 80, the master suite onboard the 80 is approximately 27 square meters. On the new 100 Explorer flagship, the master is to be an estimated 51 square meters, effectively double the value. Onboard there will be five cabins for owner and guests. The master suite is forward on the main deck level. The port side hull will have a side-loading garage for a crew tender while the yard suggests up to a 7.5-meter limo tender can be carried.
