  1. SanLorenzo Releases Details On New SX88 Model
Italian builder SanLorenzo recently detailed information relating to their new SX88 Crossover yacht. The yacht is described as a Crossover vessel because it tries to blend the best of a compact explorer design with that of a flybridge model which essentially is a hybrid of the two. There will be an SX range but it is starting with the SX88. Eventually, an SX72 is anticipated in 2018 while a larger SX104 in 2019. Construction will be in GRP materials for the hull and specialist Carbon Fiber for the superstructure.
  2. As for the design, Officina Italiana Design is responsible for the exterior while the interior will be by Piero Lissoni. The flow in design to the yacht is simple and open even on the exterior. Access to and from the bow and stern of the vessel is made easy via side decks with a minimum of two steps rise. On the interior there are a number of layouts available -three to be precise-.
  3. The interior is left customizable to the owner but they can have the master suite on the lower deck midships or forward on the main deck...taking advantage of the glass. The aft deck will be home to tender and PWC storage and will be served by a davit crane that blends with the bulwark. This craft is expected to run a a top speed of 23-knots but that has not been confirmed. As many as 6 units of the SX88 have been sold already with the first expected to hit the water in August.
