First SanLorenzo SX88 Motor Yacht Launched

Italian yard SanLorenzo has launched the first hull in the brand new SX88 model. The yacht launched today at the yard's La Speizia facilities. The Crossover yacht as it is referred to has already spawned six sales after being only unveiled not too long ago in Milan. The yacht's construction is in composite using the regular GRP materials for the hull and carbon fiber for the superstructure.

The design of the SanLorenzo SX88 Crossover is by Officina Italiana Design while the interior is by Piero Lissoni. The 27-meter yacht has some pretty 'green' features about her as well. She can run the majority of her systems for about 4 to 8 hours -depending on usage- without emitting any emissions into the atmosphere or sea. This is thanks to a combination of lower power consuming systems onboard, efficient lighting, high-power lithium batteries and very efficient thermal insulation via technology specific for the windows. RINA has awarded the SX88 with the Green Class notation for this capability.

If you want to see the first SX88 in the flesh, she will be making her official international debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The main salon is going to be the place to be onboard with the panoramic views available when the window-blinds are drawn. The bulwarks even have cut-outs in them to assure relatively clean views outward.
