News: Nordlund Details 115 Expedition

There is an expedition yacht currently under construction by Nordlund Boat Company. The yacht is being built for experienced owners who are working closely with the yard and designers. When completed, the yacht will represent the yards second largest build at 115-feet or 35.05-meters. Of course their largest was around 121-feet and called "Southern Way III". Expect this 115-footer to be completed towards the end of this year.

This yacht has been constructed around solid fishing capabilities. The aft cockpit is being fitted out with a full enclosed bulwark for safety, bait boxes, tackle storage, fishing rod locker and more. Fishing can be had anywhere as this is an expedition yacht with range above 3,000 nautical miles. Onboard there are a pair of CAT 3,200 horsepower marine diesels. Cruising speed is set at 14-knots. Accommodation will be for up to eight guests over four cabins. The master stateroom is full beam and located on the forward main deck. The other rooms are on the lower deck along with housing for up to five crew. All three decks are serviced by an elevator. The upper deck to the aft is an open deck with dedicated tender storage for a pair of Novurania RIB tenders. The mast will house a crows nest for expanded views around the yacht on her exploration. Given that the owner's previous boat (27-meter) has taken them 370,000 nautical miles in 20 years, they are pretty seasoned yachtsboat people.
