  1. PJ World Explorer Superyacht Reportedly Sold
One of the most anticipated, hyped and raved Explorer yachts of the last decade never came to fruition. It started build several years ago and stopped and has been left alongside in Norway every since then. With no owner the project just stayed laid-up rusting away. This has been the fate of the Explorer yacht that Palmer Johnson was building and involved in. Now there is news that according to a Norwegian source, Sysla Maritime, the yacht has been sold and will resume construction towards completion.
  2. The Palmer Johnson "World" project as it is known, also known as PJ World or simply by the designation on her hull -PJ801-, is an 81.4-meter explorer superyacht with design by Nuvolari & Lenard. Rolls Royce was also involved on the project to bring to fruition a unique drive system to run the yacht on. She was to have systems onboard that made her self-sufficient thereby extending her ability to roam the world's oceans for great lengths at a time.
  3. She is Polar Classed on the hull which will allow her to travel certain frigid climes of the world. There is a full-size certified helipad with heli hangar below. There was even an option to carry a submarine with capacity of half-a-dozen. The top speed was envisioned to be in the region of 16.5-knots with her diesel-electric setup. She could run on one engine and still produce a 13-knot speed. YF will keep you posted on more information relating to this project.
