News: Lurssen Delivers 55M Superyacht "Moon Sand"

55.5-meter "Moon Sand" Delivered

German custom superyacht builder has now delivered it's 55.5-meter superyacht "Moon Sand" (formerly Project 13800). It was a quiet handover but we've recently seen the new vessel in London causing a stir. She is just one of two superyachts the yard just delivered, the other being the 116-meter "AHPO" (formerly known as Project 'ENZO'). As for Moon Sand, her design is by Bannenberg & Rowell and the interior has also been represented by this design firm.

On the interior Bannenberg & Rowell had good opportunity, thanks to a 10.2-meter beam to weave their magic in the 835GT volume space. The steel hull and aluminium construction for the superstructure didn't deviate from the norm but it is the size and package that was challenging for Lurssen to work around. Remember this is a company that is consistently building above 90-meters and Moon Sand has been their smallest project at 55.5-meters. Lurssen is still very keen to build in the 55 to 75-meter range and this build perhaps is the rekindling of that effort.
