  1. 94-meter Hull 817 Launched By Feadship
Yesterday saw the launching of the latest superyacht from the Feadship Kaag yard. The vessel is the 94-meter known in build as hull 817 sporting a design by an Azure and De Voogt collaboration with an interior by Peter Marino Architects. One of the hallmarks of this vessel is it's environmentally friendly nature thanks to many of the systems installed onboard. Feadship says there is an 'exceptionally advanced hybrid propulsion system' installed.
  2. The hybrid system permits Project 817 to travel at a comfortable 12-knots on diesel-electric power. In this mode, exhaust emissions are treated adequately through the Tier III catalytic convertors and diesel particulate filters. Furthermore a large battery bank ensures optimum generator loading and a smooth power grid. If high-speed is needed, the top end of Project 817 is predicted to be 20-knots and this is achieved through the diesel engines. Visible amenities onboard include a large main pool on the aft main deck, a jacuzzi pool on the fore deck as well as a jacuzzi on the forward sun deck. A substantial beach club appears to be located in the normal position on the aft lower deck served by fold-out shell doors port and starboard and an immense fold-down transom aft door.
  3. Looking at the design, the full-height windows along the superstructure are not just aesthetically pleasing and minimal in design, they also form a functional purpose. The curtain of glass provides an excellent view to the external world and there are few interruptions thanks to the absence of bulwarks as the exterior is lined by stylish railings. The air conditioned interiors have been optimized to allow for adequate consumption of power and there is also a heat-recovery system along with waste-treatment facility onboard. Her interior volume is comfortable especially with a 14-meter (46.2-feet) beam. The yard suggests the largest tender every placed on a Feadship yacht will go aboard Hull 817 thanks to the longest shell-door ever fitted by them. The yard also suggests the final name of the yacht will be revealed after sea trials have been concluded.
