News: Burger Boat Launches First Cruiser 48 "Blue Boat Home"

"Blue Boat Home" Nears Completion At Burger Boat​

Since the last time YF looked at this 48 Cruiser in build back in February, she was only then taking shape. Now she is more or less completed and has been launched. We will give you a glimpse into her progress towards completion. The Burger Boat 48 Cruiser is a custom-built vessel the first in a duo actually with build numbers 511 and 512 at Burger Boat. The first hull is called "Blue Boat Home" as can be seen written on the aft part of the hull.

The design is by VriPack in cooperation with Burger Boat. The owner said they wanted a Burger Boat since they were a teenager and thus this is a milestone for them. Two cabins are onboard Blue Boat Home including a full-beam master suite for the owner and a guest double forward in the hull than can be converted into a twin with the touch of a button.

Volvo Penta IPS engines are onboard each with around 600 horse power. Top speed should be quick 35-knots! Fast cruising would be at 30-knots. At conservative speeds, Blue Boat Home should be able to easily see a 300 nautical mile range before having to top-up again. This petit yacht measures only 48.4-feet with a beam of 15.2-feet. The draft naturally will be shallow only drawing 3.5-feet. The 33,000 lbs displacement vessel is powered by a pair of Volvo D8 IPS800s.
