  1. Blohm + Voss completes 96-meter "Palladium"

German shipyard Blohm + Voss completed work on another of their large yachts. The latest is the 96-meter yacht christened as "Palladium". She was previously known under the project name "Orca" while in construction. Easily one of the most anticipated projects for 2010 launch, Palladium features a striking design that veers away somewhat from norm. Yet, overall she is in the body of a contemporary design.

The 96-meter Palladium's design was penned by Michael Leach featuring sharp curves, subtle angles and a paint scheme that adds to her masculine appeal. Last week, the 315-foot was completed and delivered by Blohm + Voss. The interior design also has been the work of Michael Leach along with associate partners.

Oversized windows are every where on Palladium allowing for a wealth of natural light access the interior. It also gives visual connection to the outside, enhancing the appeal of this large yacht. Hull # 971 (Orca) was built in steel and aluminum and classed to Lloyd's Register.

Palladium features a large swimming pool on her aft main deck and extensive sunning and relaxing areas around her cocoon-like structure. She has garages to host tenders and toys. There is a garage aft on the hull in the traditional location served by doors on either side and there is another garage in the bow for smaller craft. Overall her project name (Orca) suggested her final colur scheme, flowing black and white.
