    CCI,

Did you find a solution for the ss windscreen frame. I have one here that we will not be using that I can let you have for a reasonable price. I can send u pics if you would be interested.

    windshield frame...

    Good morning, Al...

Definitely interested in that frame - my email address off-board is REMOVED

ps: we've made a cored fiberglass "drop-in" sole section for the forward seating area modification and it looks like it's going to work out perfectly - pictures to come when finished!

    Hello everyone....

Just want to stay in touch, well winter here is approaching and temps at night in the 30s. Getting the skiff wrap up and wait for spring to start all the painting. Over the winter will be making all the wood work and console and getting the engine together.

Charlie... keep in touch for the NY boat show the first week of January. I plan on going either the 2nd or 3rd. If anyone else can make it, drop me a email REMOVED

    Ed

P.S. everyone enjoy the upcoming holidays

What's up guys. Sadly, I hauled out this week, it getting cold here in the NE. It was a great season, I am jealous of those who can keep their boats in longer! I plan winterized and cover this week.

Ed, we are still on the the boat show in Jan in NYC - I will send you a PM.

I would love to see some pics from the other projects out there - maybe we can keep this tread alive through the winter?

    Speak soon,

    Charlie

    Hey Guys,
I just joined here and feel I am a kindred spirit. I have restored many boats over the years and am now retired. I have one left in me and it is what you all have.
CC Insanity. You purchased the boat I was looking at in Tennessee. Congratulations on your purchase.
But the reason for my reply is to introduce myself and just share with you the appreciation for your work in bring back these beautiful boats.
I am still searching for a CC Dory to restore. Just really don't want to rip up a deck or separate the deck from the hull. Phewww. So the search continues.
There is a sister made by Marc O Customs out of New Jersey. They made a mold from a wooden CC dory and tweaked it a bit. It is called an Atlantic City Skiff. Very few were made but they came as a CC or a Cutlass style with a cabin. Pricey and hard to find.
Again you guys are doing great work and look forward to more pics of your progress.
    Merry Christmas

Yes please keep it going. In my search for CC Dory info this is the best and most detailed source I have yet to see. For anyone restoring these boats this is priceless. You guys should consider starting a Dory Club. There are plenty of boat owners who have them. Might make the winter blues pass faster.

I am the CEO of the winter blues club..... Even though it was warm here today, winter in the NE is pretty bleak - especially when you love the summer as much as I do.

Welcome to the thread - I would be great to keep it going over the winter. I would love to do another restoration - as you say, on the right vessel. I have been keeping an eye out around here (of course, none of this has been approved by the CFO!)

Great holidays to everyone - after New Years, summer is almost here!

I don't know about you guys, but I possess a mutant gene that makes me want boats. I have 3 operational and on static display. The static display is a 25 Bertram with a twin V Drive inboard set up. I had great plans for it when I bought it. But it's currently a kitty condo for my cat. It has a fly bridge set up. I am sure the C F O would love it. And it's pet friendly.

And the days are getting longer! Need a little help here - picked up a 1978 CC Cutlass on Ebay a few weeks back and not quite sure where to start! The hull and sides are great, inside needs some fiberglass finish work and holes/blemishes fixed. Description of what I bought: Bottom completely redone, five coats barrier epoxy, interior liner, hatches removed and replaced with new core and foam. No engine, many parts, such as console, and some hardware. Any suggestions are appreciated. I watched a fiberglass repair on utube for structural damage - but is all than necessary just to fill small holes in the console and interior?

    The right vessel to restore

    Ironman,

I am liquidating quite a few of my brothers collection. Various stages of condition, mostly CC and Centuries. He started a car and boat museum in Cassopolis, MI where several of his original and/or restored donations are on display. If you have a particular interest let me know what it is and I will see what we have remaining in the collection. The museum is at 980 East State St. Casopolis, MI 49031. Closed for the winter until April 2014. Anyone in the area should definately make the effort to stop by next summer. I hope to have some of the for sale boats on our hobby web site soon: hardwaygarage.com

    Winter in Paradise....

    Hello, all...

Been months since I posted and figured I was long overdue for a visit. Ed, I'm sorry to see you have to abandon your project... and welcome, Splinters.

Work on my rig continues - though more slowly than I would like as I find things that make me say to myself, "Well, I'm in this deep, so it really would be a shame not to (insert major task here) as long as I'm at it."

In that general category: Of those who have lived through to completion of their project - just how much fairing was needed to achieve a nice, smooth surface in the forward third (covering boards forward) of your inner hull liner? We no sooner got the first coat of gloss finish on than I said "I don't know about this..." as the hills and valleys became clearly evident.

Hopefully I will have some pictures worth publishing soon on other elements of the project. My "new retro dash panel" and console restoration is almost done... and as soon as I get the interior paint where I want it I'll pull the new wiring (another "as long as I'm in this deep...").

Best regards and a "keep warm" to all of you...

    dory

Hey CC, welcome back, hate the thought of not finishing the dory, but going to be headed to the warmer climate your in. Just a little to much trouble to take the dory with me, but things happen for the best.
Good to here from you, Even though I'm headed to the west coast (port charlotte) keep in touch maybe someday we 'll hook up some snook or reds.

Well.... I don't know where you all all from, but that winter was pretty awful for me (here in the northeast). Still pains me to see my vessel under the shrink wrap in the yard. Hopefully we can splash her soon.

Quick question: I am looking to add a Bimini top this year - to alleviate the heat during regatta spectating.

Does anyone have a solid recommendation on make/model/size?

    Thanks in advance!
