Thanks for the smiley KIWI. I had fired off an email to PMLflightlink with Marmot's points and recieved this for an answer: Dear ____ , PML Flightlink has now been split into 2 parts, we deal with small volume specialist applications. The Hi-Pa drive has been re-branded Protean Electric and are a separate company to us. I can forward your e-mail to them, but they are unlikely to reply as they are very focused on dealing with Automotive clients and have a strict policy on outgoing marketing information. Daimler AG (Mercedes) is buying 10% of Tesla. It will secure their situation and together they will continue to develop the battery pack.
Allow me to scratch my head on this one. The Tesla uses 2,000 cellphone batteries. So I ask "What's to develop"? I think what we are all waiting for is the next generation of batteries.
So what happens when a few of them go bad???? You have to test all 2,000 of them to find which ones? We all know that after a year of use, the cell phone batteries in our personal cell phones don't hold nearly the same charge they used to.
I donĀ“t know a better word for developing new batteries than develop? They have a company for this called Deutsche Accumotive GmbH with Evonik Industries AG. The batteries will be used also in the 1.000 second generation electric Smart cars coming later this year. 100 electric Smarts have been used in London over the last two years.
AMG, "Tak so myket" for the info. CaptJ, I think I remember seeing a clip that said they had software that monitored that condition. I could be wrong. By the way my daughter got a ride in a Tesla a couple of weeks back. Her words "Low, quiet and very, very fast".
