    Moonen Shipyards Expands

's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands: In response to current and projected orders for new, larger motoryachts, Moonen Shipyards has added a major annex to its original facilities. The new 63-metre hall, on the Lek River in Groot-Ammers, is 30 kilometres east of central Rotterdam. Operations will start there on 1 May 2008, with 30 to 50 employees including sub contractors. The new facility will be dedicated to building new yachts up to 45 metres and performing refits of larger yachts.

The initial Groot-Ammers project will be the completion of the first 37.80-metre Moonen 124 Displacement yacht, Snow White. She is already well along in construction in 's-Hertogenbosch, and when launched in spring 2009 she will be Moonen's longest and highest-displacement "pocket-size superyacht." Moonen will continue to build yachts up to 35 metres in 's-Hertogenbosch and maintain design, engineering, purchasing, and interior joinery there for projects in both locations.

With the expansion Moonen is seeking to hire project managers, engineers, planners, carpenters, painters, and trainees for all disciplines, as well as employees for Inoferro, its stainless-steel component manufacturing subsidiary. In addition to the 124, the shipyard is about to launch the eighth Moonen 84, and has under construction a new Fast Range 99 Alu and two Moonen 97 Displacement yachts.
