Aarergh...why bring a boat to MYS and not let people see inside?? Seems useless when the yachts are so tightly packed....and all you see is the bow and stern... Oh well, c'est la vie!!! Cheers
I think she was not open for public but available to be viewed by VERY prospect future clients. I think its presence as a new build in such a show is enough on its on for publicity along with some printed material and a video presentation. Just a wild guess. Cheers,
Yes, there were invited Yacht Owners that could see her. Remember the many yachts outside Monaco, this is where the clients for this kind of boat is to be found. There is also another problem with showing big boats compared to small, as you need to have somebody available to walk you around.

Those were some Italian builder ISA new generation yacht models. I would love to see more onboard "Better Place". I think she's definitely a cool boat. I'm still warming up to the vibrant blue colour but the black certainly works!
And here they are! Wally 50m - BETTER PLACE | Facebook Yep she is very stylish but from some angles a bit boxy... all in all definitely not bad.
Good question. It was a little frustrating. Garcon is one of the reasons I came to Monaco. I agreed to do a feature for Amels with their marketing director Victor Caminada. Instead, all I got was a thumbdrive with nothing more than a few exterior shots. Here's one...
The Monaco Yacht Show is something everyone should add to their bucket list. This was my first year attending the show, just in case something weird happens on December 21st, 2012. The French Riviera is one of those places you hear about, but until you tour the coast, you can't really comprehend the scope and magnitude of it all. It is overwhelming, with famous cities and marinas dotting the coast for 100's of miles! I was fortunate to have a tour guide who lived in Monaco for 15 years. A former captain, this gentleman is a walking Websters on events, places and people that shaped a society rich in culture, class and the art of living well. He should know, he rubbed elbows with many of them. These days, he spends his time designing boats and when he's not drifting Euro hatches around curves precariously close to vertical cliffs on the Med, we all know him on YF as Lars Modin. On the subject of boats designed by Lars; one of his Delta 54's arrived while we were having lunch. This is easily the largest 54' boat I've ever seen. It's huge! Following lunch, we took a short cruise out in the bay and put it through its paces. This is a segment defining boat (and build). The hull and deck are built entirely from carbon fiber, producing an exceptionally light boat that is efficient and fast. The best part... it's coming to America! The Delta 54 and it's little brother, the Delta 26 open are scheduled to make their U.S. debut at FLIBS 2012. The pictures from my iPhone don't do it justice. Although Delta displayed at Cannes, one of their brokers had a 26' Open on display at the Monaco Show. This boat captures many of the elements that are fast becoming the future of tender design and direction. On top of that - literally - it has a very innovative bimini top that folds forward into a purpose built, concealed pocket in front of the helm. Brilliant!
