I'm only in my mid-40s, and I'll agree that the beauty of sailing yachts more or less peaked with the 1930s era J-Class boats.
I could not resist reposting the car concept with some added details. Still not too detailed and a far cry from 3D and AI but a grateful design for some different versions and easily illustrated in this old school software. Kevin: I really like the Nissan concept but on the previous theme of shear lines, I hope my design appears a bit more “curvy” Since there is an apparent interest in cars at the YF, perhaps Carl should start a new Site. CarForums. Yes, there are plenty of car sites out there but I’m sure the targeted audience is already defined in Yacht and Jet Forums.
Probably not a good idea for me... it would occupy literally all my time. Cars are where my heart is. Driving cars, working on cars, detailing cars, looking at cars I can't afford, etc etc.
I hear you, Kevin Should the car design interest pick up, I might have to quit my day job and push my retirement plans yet another year or two...
...whaaat...? ...Hello A.I!! I used the magic wand on one of my old Yacht designs and crazy things happened!! This rendering took 10 seconds to generate and each additional click resulted in a new design...!!? Yes, a lot of the details are missing, like some of the windows in the hull and whatnot and it’s not 100% to the original design. I post this raw (no editing) A.I. image for the purpose of illustrating the A.I. effect after 10 seconds. For someone familiar with Photoshop and editing, this could easily pass as a serious concept design after some tweaking and cleaning. ...10 seconds of “work” ...hazy eyes please! I should run all of my old designs through A.I... one way of showing the designs through my hazy eyes...
I recognize names like Bannenberg, Nuvolari, Marshall, Modin and Kajan. I don't know who this AI guy is, but I suspect his skills came from scavenging and plagiarizing.
Same same but with some new added skills. These enclosed, and around 10 m boats, are as common in Scandinavian waters as the walkarounds in US waters. Preferably in aluminium.
...Kevin: ...between you and me, I do too have a soft spot for cars. I’m sure no one will notice if I post another version of my old Hatchback/Coupe design concept once again...
Mid-engine? The front seems too small to fit much of anything in there... unless it's destined to be an EV.
Kajan, My car love was always the 300 Gullwing by Mercedes,...and to think this was a 1954 design https://www.motorauthority.com/news...enz-300-sl-alloy-gullwing-sells-for-almost-7m There was a time when I was working over in SE Asia that I was thinking of ways to get American car manufactures to experiment with alternative car designs, possibly flywheel powered or electric versions. They could experiment there without suffering over bearing bad press that might receive here in the US. The 6 largest monied industries in Thailand are all automobile related, so I thought they might be encouraged with participation,..developed in Asia, then brought to the US And I thought as a promotion gimmick we could mask this experimental car in the clothes of a 300 Gullwing replica. Can you imagine an gullwing powered by 2 of even 4 electric motors at each wheel !! (and the Thais love cars and mercedes)
