Finally in the water after a severe leg injury, DVT and many surgeries going back to October!
During my extended downtime, I had full A1/A2 service, replaced gear and fuel coolers, tach drives, and replaced injectors with rebuilt. I also pulled the troublesome Onan MDL4 and replaced with a Northern Lights 20 kw Gem series which I'm loving so far.

To the point of the post... when I launched with Man techs and sea trialed there was a small coolant leak which they addressed, and I asked them to raise idle to 630 since it was about 525 and dropping to 480 in gear. During sea trial I was hitting 2330 with full fuel and water. Now about two weeks later I can hit 2410 on the pins. Should I add pitch, cup or just leave as is? I'm leaning towards just leaving it and having leeway for dirtier bottom more weight etc.

I would leave it alone and leave leeway.

I would leave it, BUT what changed to gain 80 rpms? Also what was your fuel and water load?

Not quite sure what changed other than adding a tender to the bow. I also filled with new tank of diesel. Maybe Old fuel was issue unless the weight on the bow is helping somehow.

Oh, less bow angle and not using trim tabs (drag) maybe?
Also a gen-set at half the weight.

Thru the years, I have learned shifting batteries around can make a difference.
