    Both Aircraft were TCAS equipped, the whole thing was a comedy of errors with fatal consequences.

    The ATC person was stabbed to death afterwards by a man who lost his whole family.

    I did not know, the Russian aircraft was TCAS equipped also. One of my former F-4 navigators (from old airforce times) lives near the town of Überlingen at the Lake Constance and saw the explosion in the air and the burning pieces comming down during nite, when walking his dog. An experience I really do not need.
