Great idea but. how do you transport the wheel chair from floor to floor.
beginning to understand this is not just a an easy install and go situation.

Thanks for the great comments and understanding

Under maritime attorney there is a long list regarding personell injury types but could not see any contract law types on the list under that heading???.

Please send a private message that I can respond to.

The easiest thing is to have a couple of wheelchairs. One for the main deck and one for the lower deck.

Another builder who seems to go out of their way to make the customers wishes come true in your size range is Hargrave. Their sweet spot seems to be in the 90-110 range.

Sorry. I will repost link when I get home. If you go to YouTube and search for Hargrave Eds Toy it should come up.

Here is a good video of a beautiful Hargrave 81 built for an owner in a Chair. It should give you some Ideas. I am the father of a 22 year old child who is in a Chair and has been since birth. We haven't let her challenge stop us from boating either. God willing I will retire in about 10 years and take her cruising full time. My hats off to you for you and your families commitment to your chair-bound loved one. Regards Randy

I feel it was better to build one in my local area than half way around the world, with another language to start with.

Thanks for the thoughts and input.

I can understand your reluctance about building overseas. The unfortunate fact is the US has a limited number of custom builders who build in that size range. With only a handful of production builders who will modify. Hatteras may work with you. US builders are not set up for semi-custom work. Too costly and not efficient. A couple of builders out west are more accommodating. The below 100' semi-custom market has been left primarily to the far east builders. These far east builders are nothing like they were 20 years ago. Their work is definitely top notch and they love to do what ever the can to accommodate the owner's needs. Prices aren't bad either. I've been looking into these builders for quite sometime now and I can say the engineering and build quality are second to know in there size range and the wood work is top notch. Some of the better builders would be Horizon, Ocean Alexander, Hampton and of course Hargrave.

In my back yard in Vancouver Canada is Queenship which specialize in doing custom work and looks like that will be a good Company to work with.

    Thanks

Yes Queenship was one of the yards I was referring to. They build excellent boats. Their beams tend to be on the narrow side but they have solid engineering and from what I know will do custom work. I would jump on them in a second if they would update their sub 65' boats.:)

I stand corrected. I was looking at there older designs which where 65' with a 17' beam. The new designs look much wider and the 74' Merriweather looks great. What 80' are you referring to. Couldn't find it on their site?

They have not built this yet it is on paper and the design has been tank tested and approved.
