...and as we have seen in the past with other builds, protective film typically doesn't last past a certain time before it gets tattered. We definitely are not seeing any issues on "Solaris", so the conclusion can be drawn that she is painted this colour. As Kevin said, it would be the "smoothest, glossiest, most seamless film I've ever seen."

About the colour of Solaris, I've recently read an article on how to build an explorer yacht suitable for undertaking Pacific cruises from Northwest Passage to French Polynesia. I found what experts said about the colour of the yacht was quite interesting.
It seems that a pale shade of grey would be a better choice rather than dark blue, and even pure white because these colours end up being a maintenance issue.

This is the one time I will post a link from this page. This is an exception. Stunning yacht...finally uncovered and dressed as if the owner is onboard.

Is this the first yacht to be built to PYC standards that employs a door/screen over the lifeboats? That's a feature I cannot remember seeing on any other PYC-classed yacht.

Yachts like Solaris and Lady S make me wonder about beam measurements; both yachts have sections in the superstructure that extend far beyond the hull. Since the beam of a ship is its width at its widest point, does that mean that for Solaris the beam is measured at the edge of the outside of the bridge wings? If yes, then Solaris is not *really* 21m wide, more like ~17/18m wide (say for visual/space comparisons).

Beam Overall is measured at the widest points so that would be at her bridge wings. Then there are other meaurements like moulded beam, BAW.
