Oh don't we all know. I like to relate a story I once heard of a guy who flushed his cigar only to have it come shooting back at him. No little girl wants things coming back at them from even a clean toilet.
Young / teenage girls have a way of saying yes and ignoring things... same with half hour showers... each young girl on board means increasing watermaker run time by 10%...
Only 10%. lol. Yep, but I think the OP will be ok with his kids being under 3. However the lesson would be well drilled into mom. Baby wipes and tampons could turn their idyllic adventure into a nightmare.
Hahah, I think all of us men have had experiences like this before. Well, otherwise it would be boring. It's always an adventure - no matter in which way!
Moonchild, the last time DragonRyu logged onto YachtForums was May 13, 2006. Maybe he or she is still thinking about it.
I know I'm resurrecting this old thread, but we've lived aboard our 75' yacht for almost 9 years. We didn't know anything about anything, just took the plunge and it's been an exciting and unique experience. If you overthink it, you'll never do it. If anyone has questions, lmk!
Interesting to see this old subject thread brought back to life. It made me go looking for this old posting of mine. Regrettably I am now approach 82 years, and I'm far less adventurous,...might even be termed a home body. I recall dreaming about some long term cruising on the Med or the Baltic Seas with multiple stops at ports and cities on their shores. I'm not so sure it would be the same meet and greet atmosphere it was before this new 'cell phone technology world'. I don't believe it would be as hospitable as the older days. Luckily I'm still in good health that I could make such a trip, but financially could not afford it on my own. My last dream of living on the water was my desire to build a Thai or Bali style cottage on a floating platform, ...for use here on the east coast of the US, or in Thailand itself. But the Thai lady I married was deadly afraid of the water, so that was a bust,...and now even that marriage is a bust, with us both living our separate lives in both different countries. And now I find myself living in a mobile home here in Florida,...wonder what Jimmy Buffett would think of that ?!...I think he mentions such a thing in one of his early albums...ha...ha C'est la vie
Now I might give one of these vessels a try for living aboard,...small enough and economical enough for a couple to be very comfortable on,.. Pilgrim 40 https://www.trawlerforum.com/threads/redesigning-the-pilgrim-40-trawler-canal-boat.11212/
